Oh me too! I wish it would go off the air too. It IS such a waste of air time......oh wait a minute I live in the United States of America and I have freedom of choice and Stern has freedom of speech. Maybe I'll just not listen and watch. Wow what a novel idea! Simple, yet so fundamental.

I'd be way sad if they took Howard off the air -- I'm a long time listener. I wouldn't mind if they took Rush Limbaugh off the air -- wait, is he still ON the air??? Woudln't know, since he's one I hit the off button for.

I wasn't listening this morning - what exactly did he say, that he has been pulled? Was this his April Fools Day prank, or Inifinity Broadcasting's?

Howard had my husband fooled! He had a replacement show on the air, two really sappy djs with the motto "Fun without the Filth". He resumed the regular show after about an hour.

I'm not a fan and I wouldn't miss him if he went off the air, but if went off the air because of government pressure, you can bet I'd be supporting his fight to get back on. If you don't like him do what I do, simply don't turn his show on.

(and I feel the same about Rush. I never listen to him, but I'd never support government efforts to pull his show.)

New York-WABC, April 1, 2004) — The FCC has taken the first step toward investigating Oprah Winfrey after receiving "more than a few complaints" about her show, the feds took action nearly two weeks after shock-jock Howard Stern launched a radio and Internet assault on Winfrey.

Stern complained that the FCC is guilty of hypocrisy for hitting the stations that broadcast his show with multiple obscenity fines while letting sexually explicit slang slide during Oprah's gab fests.

A representative for Winfrey could not be reached for comment.

This does NOT appear to be a joke. I heard on talk radio that this was regarding the show on teen sex that aired last week. Hey, fair is fair and Howard's right. Draw the line or don't. But be consistent.

I am allowed to have my opinion on Howard..it's not just his topics, it's just I feel he's a no talent jerk. That is why I don't ever listen to or watch him. I also don't watch Oprah because half the time her show is such a joke. I really watch no talk shows at all.

If HS has fans like like him and would be upset to see him pulled then they should fight to make sure his shows stay on. I would never say what should or shouldn't be on the air, it is only one persons opinion on the wate of airtime. I'm not saying I'm right or wrong..I'm sure there are tons of people that can't stand what I listen to and think it's a waste of airtime. (oldies and country music mostly) TV I watch all the old shows on nick at night and tv land. I watch Lifetime all morning long and in the afternoon TBS is on. I also watch TLC and Discovery.
