O.K. Be brutally honest. We stop for the night if driving will be more than 15 hours. I am really jumping the gun here, but if all goes well, we may be moving to Cincinnati and of course, the first thing that jumps into my head is WDW! I know USAir has a great deal going on now, but historically CINCI to MCO is not cheap! I am not crazy anout traveling to another airport 2-3 hours away to save either, as that is 6+ hours that culd be done driving...if my car was decent enough! Anyway...humor me...who's made the drive...and how lousy is it? We droce from Chicago last Dec., and I wuld say o.k. to it again, but wuld prefer to fly as it took 2 days.

being brutally honest....it isn't that bad, really. We drive from just south of Lousville, KY (about 13 hours). driving down I-75 through Kentucky and Tennessee is pleasant, and the only real traffic you'll encounter is around Atlanta/Macon. Georgia is one long state, LOL! I can't believe it's 15 hours from Cincinnati, but I suppose it is....

as far as flying out of another airport--Louisville, Dayton, and Indianapolis all have very reasonable fares....very reasonable. Southwest flies out of Lousville and Indy, and AirTran flies out of Dayton. You are right--CVG is the most expensive airport in the area, usually. I know people that will drive to Columbus, but really, that is too far for me.

good luck!

We live in Akron, Ohio about 4 hours north of you. We always drive to WDW and it is not bad. It takes 18 hours. We have done it in 2 days (leave 4am and stop in Georgia about 4pm) and the last few times we have drive straight there. I have two children and we put a tv/vcr combo in the car and it isn't bad.

Welcome to Ohio!!

Thanks for the welcome bcinohio, but we're not there yet..:teeth: DH is interviewing for a position there and I am just dreaming about if things work out. We are just west of Chicago now, and even tho 19 hours is the travel time from here, it takes us longer w/stops etc. so we do it in 2 days as well, but was hoping we could make it in one from Cincinnati. Counting bathroom stops, quick food etc, I guess we could do it in one but might be pushing it.

I read your OP wrong, I thought you said it WAS 15 hours....I really don't think it's that far, depending on what part of the city you live in.....I would say it is closer to 13-14. We have done 13 hours in one day more than once. it isn't that bad...

I can do 13 hours! That is short enough to sway me into AP territory!
