Just back from the Magic, and we booked the 10/03 Eastern cruise. Now we are wondering if this is a good thing? I have NO problem taking my kids out of school for a week, but was wondering if anyone who has cruised in October, could tell us if they think there would be other kids.....not pre-schoolers? I feel sure that there will be a few, but just wanted to have someone reassure me. Who has cruised in October before? Tell me about it!

We cruised in Oct. two years ago. We did not have our kids with us at the time but there were a lot of them on the ship. Yours should have plenty of friends to meet. We lucked out with the weather because there was a hurricane the week before our cruise and the week after. The only problem was that the hurricane prior to the cruise nearly wiped out Castaway Cay so we could not dock there. We sat off the coast and used it as a day at sea. There was no lack of fun on the ship and the cruise was a fun time. Have gone twice since then!!:earsboy:

We have cruised in October and loved the time. The weather was great (no hurricane) and, yes, there are plenty of kids. There are always kids, families, etc. on DCL or WDW, etc. I have been to both several times and have never seen a difference.

We sail in October this year too!

We cruised on the Magic 10/13 last year, with our kids. There were TONS of other kids! Remember - this IS Disney. ;)

It was a great cruise in every respect - we sail again on the 10/12 western Magic this year!

'Beano'

There are ALWAYS kids on a Disney cruise!! :)

We did a back to back last fall -- last week September, first week October -- and even 9/11 couldn't keep 'em away. There were lots of families aboard, and an abundance of kids of all ages. (In fact, I believe the ship was close to 100% capacity.)

Weather was great, and since it was the off season, the ports were not crowded at all. Among other things, that meant great sales to be had at St. Thomas and St. Maarten!

We've cruised in October too, your kids will have no problems finding friends. :) Taking kids out of school isn't as much of a impediment as it used to be.

Looks like we made the right decision!

Was it warm enough to swim? Our pool is usually cold at that time of year.

I have had the BEST weather cruising in October. Definitely warm enough to swim, and as others have said, there are always plenty of kids on a DCL cruise.

Enjoy! :D
