Who Has Counter-Offered An Exercized RoFR?

Thanks all for the input.

I'm in NO rush and have no real need for Vero points. I just think it would be cool to have them if the price was dirt cheap.

Hmm...

I wonder how many consecutive VB contracts Disney would buy out from under me. Do you think they'd get to a point and say "forget it, let this guy have his deal so he'll quit low-balling us into all these buy-backs"?

Or would they laugh and let you have it because it's VB points. The question is what's low ball at VB. My answer is somewhat less than $60 pp, depending on the contract size and points availability.

Exactly. My goal would be to get as close as possible to $50.

I just can't imagine they'd want to buy back a lot of VB.

And therein lies the delima. It's very unlikely DVC will let it go through at that price but there's no harm in trying. The other problem you will likely have is the resalers are unlikely to give you much help or support at that level. They may even refuse to present the offer.

Why would that be? Resellers don't make money if Disney exercises? Hey, a sale is a sale, right?

I see it as a simple function of supply and demand. If Vero points are readily available (and they are) and buyers are in short supply (I believe they are) my admittedly low-ball offers will be considered.

The broker gets their commission per the terms of the contract regardless, DVC just sends them a check. So if DVC buys one and you buy a second one, they get paid twice. The problems with your scenario are these. First, there are few that will accept a contract for THAT low, maybe the very low $60's but not low $50's. That's not to say no one will but it's not that many and the brokers are counseling them to list higher and not to accept that low. Then the chances of DVC letting it go at that price are slim to none. What will likely happen is you will put in a lot of work finding what you want at the right price only to have DVC buy it. Your time and energy are worth something. That's not to say it's unreasonable to give it a try if the situation arises, just that it's not worth the time and energy going to look for it, especially to say at most $1500 on 150 points, less on smaller contracts.

Or if DVC buys and buys and buys...

Hey, if I help 'em move enough points maybe I can negotiate a kickback.;)

Having watched the resale listings for a while it seems the VB resales are pretty stagnant. Guess I'll just have to try and steal one and see how it goes.
