We will be at OKW in a 1 bedroom Mar. 28 - Apr. 4. DH will be renting a scooter (he found out that he can do parks again with a scooter!!) so I asked for a HA unit near HH. I noticed that my confirmation letter says HH but there is no mention of HA unit. Shouldn't it be noted, since it was confirmed when I booked that a HA unit was available? I don't want to get there and have any problem.

I just booked my first HA unit at VWL for next May. I was on hold while they checked with special needs on the availability and was told it was available. After reading your question I looked at our confirmation and it does not state anything about the studio being a HA either so it doesn't seem like that is information that goes in the written or online confirmation. :confused3

Hey there--you may want to check out the Disabilities forum too--this and other questions come up periodically--but essentially "no" the confirmation does not state the HA category. I have HA rooms reserved for next week and next March too (we're going to be in WDW at the same time--we'll have to get together and "scoot") and none of my confirmations indicate the HA, but I am advised by the mods on the Disabilities forum that this is normal.

Okay, Kathy. It's hard to understand why this info isn't on the confirmation letter.
Toocherie, I am still learning about this scooter world!

Okay, Kathy. It's hard to understand why this info isn't on the confirmation letter.

I think it's because the group that assigns HA rooms is different from MS, and neither have access to the other's computer. So MS blocks "a" room and the other group blocks the available HA room. Not a good answer, I know.

If you want to be guaranteed a HA unit the request has to somehow be processed through a special needs dept. There is a difference evidently between HA request and HA guarantee.

We stayed in a HA GV last year and went through the process to have it guaranteed.

I wouldn't think the studios, 1Brs and 2Brs would be too difficult to get, but the GV was.

DEFINITELY, make sure you have the guarantee. Plus with a scooter you need ground floor access or elevator access. I would assume that would be included with HA, but I'd make sure.
