Has anyone been to a MVMCP that was sold out? Were the crowds awful? I've been to two, but neither were sold out, and the crowds were very light. Most everything had a walk-on or 5 minute wait, except a couple of the fantasyland attractions that had about 15 min. waits. What should I expect for the party on the 19th?

Expect a big crowd with people lining up for the 8:30 parade as soon as they open main stret at 7PM :(. Also don't expect any walk ons.

We have done MVMCP since 1994. It remains my favorite(be there the 12th) but just be prepared for the crowd. have your plan ready to enjoy the festivities. I would not use the time as a ride night.

Enjoy

Funny; I have gone the last six years and everything has been a walk on (except for Pooh). In fact we were on Splash Mountain and when we got to the unload, the CM said, "Wanna go again?"
I would not use the time as a ride night.
Kind of defeats the purpose of going, doesn't it?

We were there a few years ago when it was sold out :earseek: When we walked into the park, there were SO many people that instead of walking down MS, they had us going behind the buildings!! Yes we were backstage :teeth: It was crazy, we couldn't walk on anything either, but were there until they closed the park and ended up going on all the rides. We were able to get our picture, and find a spot for the parade (about 4 people back) in front of splash mountain. Did I say it was crazy?? That being said, it was VERY magical and wouldn't stop us from doing it again (which infact we have!!)

It so much depends on when you go, We too have been every year since 1994. The earlier years were the walk on and no rush to line up at the curb. Since 2000 it has been quite different with lots more people. Regardless it is my Favorite event at WDW.

We were there for a "sold out" Friday night (12/5). You just have to plan your evening. It is still Magical.

Since everyone is moved to TomorrowLand awaiting the start of the MVMCP, that is really a good place to steer clear of.

We got to the Park around 4:30 PM, got our wristbands and actually found the rides to be pretty open as people were wrapping up their day at the park. We walked on every ride in FantasyLand + did Space Mountain prior to 6 o'clock. It was a great time to be in the park before the party started.

Another tip on getting your picture taken: at 6:30 there was an extremely long line in TomorrowLand queued up to wait for their picture. We decided to wander over to Fantasyland and at 6:45 found that there were 3 picture taking stations at It's a Small World that were already taking pictures with no wait. Got that done early.

Also good to head to Liberty and Adventureland to ride rides right at 7 with no lines.

It is much better to watch the second parade if you can as the crowds are better then. We watched right on Main Street in front of the bakery. We were in the second row (first row was sitting on the curb) and got there about 15 minutes prior to parade.

Stay and watch the 12 midnight show at Castle if you can. It was great!!
