We have decided that we love Disney and we are going to try our best to go every year or every other year. I want to start a tradition with my family. You know, eating at one restaurant on arrival day and ending with one? How many of you have this tradition and what are your restaurants? I know I want to start with Liberty Tree Tavern. The problem is, that I love it and may end with it too! Tell me your traditions.:)

Well we've only been once (other than when I went as a child), but our first and last nights worked so great, we'll probably make them a tradition. We stayed at the Poly and our first dinner was at Kona - wonderful food, nice just staying at the resort for the evening (it was Grad Night), not traveling around after our 19 hour car ride, etc. Our last meal was at LeCellier - delicious!! They were our two favorite restaurants so they were nice bookends. Plus, though we enjoyed our character meals, they were buffets and I kind of enjoyed the "pampering" of being served those nights!

We usually stay at the GF, so our tradition has become having lunch at the GF Cafe after check-in. I'll never forget the first time we stayed at the GF...we were having our first meal there, lunch at the GF Cafe, and I was looking out the windows of the restaurant and grinning from ear to ear because it was our DD's first time in WDW (she was 3 1/2) and I was quickly falling in love with this beautiful resort!

We always planned a character breakfast for our last day, and a few times it wound up being at Chef Mickey's, but after last year's vacation, DD asked if we could eat there on another day, rather than the last, because she's so sad about going home that she can't enjoy Chef Mickey's as much as she'd like. There goes our end-of-vacation tradition! ;)

:sunny:

Our tradition is that once we get there and unpack we race to Downtown Disney to eat at Earl of Sandwich. Yummy!!!!!

We like to start our vacation with a visit to b&c and enjoy the beautiful sites. And we always end our vacation eating our dinner at Narcossee's and enjoying the firewoeks.

We don't really have an arriving tradition but we do have an exit tradition. We always try to eat at the plaza on our last day in the MK. It's a tradition we started on our honeymoon. We had eaten counter service burgers so much that week that we needed a "real" one so we ate there as we were leaving and have tried to eat there in some form on our last day in the MK ever since. We've missed it our last 2 trips but will definitely do it on our trip in January.

We always go to Crystal Palace first, because:

1. We must start in MK, mustn't we?
2. Travel creates hunger; buffet provides much food
3. Nothing sets up that "Disney feeling" like hugs from Piglet, Eeyore, Tigger and Pooh

Then it's off to Buzz, Space Mountain, Philharmagic and HM.

Every trip, that's how we start.

We always begin at the Plaza in MK, where the girls get their beloved tomato soup and Mickeylodeon sundaes, and we always end with lunch at Chefs de France, with onion soup, quiche (mac and cheese for the girls) and creme brulee.

Ohana is our starting place. An evening meal with fireworks thrown in really sinks it in that we are in the World. And we always end our trip at Nine Dragons. Ahh, Honey Sesame Chicken for the ride home.

We don't have a restaurant tradition for arrival day... we just always go to Epcot that day since we always stay at the YC/BC and you can walk right on in :thumbsup2

On departure day though, we always end the trip w/ breakfast at Cape May Cafe with Goofy, Minnie, Chip, and Dale.... and then head to the airport :(

The breakfast always gives us one more chance to say goodbye.......

We always get an ADR for the earliest possible seating at CP on our last day. It guarantees a few "only us in the park" shots in front of the castle, it gives us a nice big breakfast to carry us through the day, and it's the bit of magic to carry us over until "next time!"

We like to vary our arrival meal plans, since having an ADR that day *can* cause a lot of stress is there are any wrinkles in your travels (flight delays, etc.) and it avoids setting ourselves up for disappointment if, for reasons out of our control, things don't go exactly as planned.

Our first dinner is ALWAYS at Chef Mickey's to get us in the WDW spirit. We always end our vacation with dinner at a signature restaurant (usually Narcossee's or Flying Fish).

DH & I have never stayed onsite together before (he has with his parents when he was a child, years ago) but I am thinking of starting a tradition of ours that we will carry on when we have childs...our first meal will be at Chef Mickey's :) What a wonderful way to start our trip, but with seeing Mr. Mouse!!! lol  I can't wait....I don't know what to end with?? :)

I love all of your traditions! I am thinking about starting and ending with a character meal. You all have given me such wonderful ideas. I saw on the dis a while back of someone that took pictures each year at, I think CP, of their kids every year with the characters so that they could watch them grow year to year in the pictures. So, I am thinking about starting with Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner and ending the morning that we leave with Crystal Palace early breakfast adr. How does this sound? I am so excited! I can't help it, I love WDW!:thumbsup2

We don't have an ending tradition but somehow we have ended up with a tradition of eating at Pecos Bills on our first day. DD and DH always need to go on Pirates of the Caribbean (even before the movies came out) so we were in the vicinity anyhow. We generally get a very early flight that lands in Orlando by 10:15. So now that we use ME we are generally at our DVC villa by 11 or 11:30. We check in, leave our carry ons with bell services (except for once when our room was ready) and then head out to the MK. Stop at the Jungle Cruise to pick up fast passes. go to Pirates (doesn't usually have much of a line), then eat lunch. Then if we still have time to kill before the Jungle Cruise, we do the Tiki Birds. If DD is feeling ambitious, we'll send her for Big Thunder fast passes as soon as the window for the Jungle Cruise starts.

Hi, we don't have a beggining tradition, but our last full day is always spent at the magic kingdom, we stay till closing and take a few minutes to look at the castle and "bye" to it until next time....... then in my head i'm aldready planning for just that!!!

We try and do Chef Mickeys on our first night. It's so lively and spirited the kids and us love it to get us into the Disney swing of things.

We always get into Orlando too late to hit the parks so we head to DTD and our first dinner is always at RFC. We just love that place. The food and service have always been great and we really love the atmosphere there. But to end our week at Disney we always save our favorite for last and have a big good-bye dinner with Mickey and friends at Chef Mickey's. It's usually happy/sad kind of feeling. We love eating with Mickey and friends, but we know we'll be leaving the next day. It's usually here we decide when our next trip is going to be.

We usually finish up on a Saturday at the MK. We usually eat lunch at LTT that day. We love their lunch menu and since we don't take a break that day a nice sit down lunch does the trick.
