Who had perfect attendance in school?

i never got it...my parents would take us out for trips, in 9th adn 11th grade i had surgeries and was out for a month...
they used parking places for seniors as incentives but didnt matter to me

I never got PA. And it didnt bother me in the least. The sweetpea thinks its a big deal, but poor thing misses so much school she wont get it. She gets sick a lot, plus her allergies and asthma keep her home as well. So far she only got PA for one quarter out of all her years. And then the week following getting PA, she took a week off for WDW. And I also take her out for a day here and there when we want to have an "us" day. No one is gonna get a better job or get along better in life because they had PA in school. And for the record, the sweetpea is a straight A student and in GATE.

My DD7 had perfect attendence through 2 years of pre-school, and Kindergarden. I don't know how she did it, but, she always seemed to manage to never get sick during the week, but come friday night it was coming out both ends! :rotfl2:

I got it a few times in school, but seriously doubt my kids will ever get it. We've pulled them out every year a few days here and there for vacations or special "Mommy" or "Daddy" days. DH works out of town alot, so sometimes, the kids just need a day to catch up with him. I check with teachers before hand and get their work, but so far, no teacher has had a problem with it.

I think it's pretty bogus in our school district anyway. Here, if you're there at roll call, you're counted as present for the day. Everytime I've looked at the student check out sheet, there's always a handful of students who are checked out at 8:30 (15 minutes after roll call), but they're still "present" that day. Have even had teachers suggest it. "Sure, I don't have a problem with her being out Tuesday. But why don't you just send her in to get counted and then check her out?" I know the attendance numbers help with their funding, but good grief!
