Who goes to Disney without their Spouse?

My DH is not invited anymore. As my DD (5) says "He doesn't feel the magic so Daddy isn't allowed". He isn't all that bad b/c he purchased a DVC membership so we can bring our friends & family with us! Heading down in nine days with my Mimi & Poppy!

I go to Disney on an average of every 6 weeks, my husband comes with us twice a year. One trip is for a week (out or our 2 weeks) in the begining of the summer & the other trip is for our 5 day pre-Christmas trip.. the rest are me and my DD's, even my DS doesn't come anymore (he is 18 now anyway).... I honestly have a better time just me & the girls :ssst: :ssst: ;)

My husband owns his own business and can't vacation with us for a whole week. So, I will take our 3 kids to WDW and he will fly in for a couple of days. My children are 5, 6, and 9 and I can't think of any other place to take them where I would feel comfortable going without my DH. I did this last year and it worked out great. When I told him I wanted to go again this year, he looked at me like I was crazy. When I explained to him why I love going to WDW so much, he got it. I feel so safe and taken care of there. I hate driving. I'm always worried my car is going to break down with three kids in the back. I'm directionally impared. At WDW I fly in, have a car or bus take me to my resort and have everything I need available to me with out driving and getting lost. I suppose once they get older I can try something else. But, for now, I'm planning on going to WDW every summer vacation.

Hi all :wave2: ,

I find most men either love it or hate it.

What I've done in the past with b/friends was to tell them where I was going and for how long. Ask them if they would like to go - hope they say NO and go ahead and book it - then had a fab time.

My only problem now is I now have a new b/friend (6 mths) who actually wants to go - but can't as I booked an girl's only trip with my 12 year old neice princess: for September 2005 (booked before I met him), and she doesn't want any boy's on the trip (her words).

Just have to pipe in! Have been w/ DH before & will go again in a few years probably, but every year we do a girls week or long weekend if we all can't fit it in--me, DD, sister, my mom, & gf's!(sometimes all of us, sometimes only gf's. But it is a needed escape DH doesn't quite get my WDW fascination, so not a problem there-he doesn't come.! Only when it's been a while & he wants to see new stuff! Also, he gets his boys weekend-golfing & playing poker twice a year (which is another mini-vacation when I am home! :goodvibes ) I just love being down there with people who love it & don't try to get to see everything in the quickest time  (like another poster said!). Deb

I would only go to WDW once without the wife, because after that, I probably wouldn't have a wife any more. :rotfl:

I've only done this once, when I was attending a conference. Despite being with co-workers I consider good friends, I couldn't help wishing dh had been with me to enjoy the visit.

57 yo here - I go alone or with girlfriends several times a year. Sometimes I meet friends, sometimes not. My husband's been about 4-5 times to my 30. he goes skiing with out me - I don't like winter, snow, wet, cold. When he's with me, we have fun. When I'm alone, I get reaquainted with me and what I want to do. We've been married 28 years. :earsgirl:
