Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Hi Threadkillers!

Robin - congrats to Alex & Stephanie and the mommy & daddy of the groom! Did he say how he proposed? Also - I received a banana gram! Thanks SO much you are so sweet! 3-7 days in the hospital, huh? That's a bummer. I hope your surgery turns out to be one of those remarkably easy ones and everything is okay....you know I'm pulling for you!

Kim - it's amazing how many people have celiacs! If a gluten free diet is what makes her feel better....yippee! I've got my fingers crossed.

Hi Colleen! I want an iPad SO bad! Tom and I promised ourselves one as soon as the 2nd generation comes out. I think they're awesome the way they are, but I keep thinking back to how much cooler the 2nd gen kindle is compared to my clunky 1st gen!

Hiya PD! Glad to see you onboard, even if it's just a flyby! Hello to everyone else....

Holly had her glucose curve test yesterday and we're meeting with the docs today to get results. Hopefully, we'll have good news. However, if she's getting enough insulin that means there's something else that's wrong....it's a good news/bad news situation either way.

So....as soon as I can give her the next injection (need to wait 15 min after eating) I'm off to get my day started!

Ya'll take care!

Thanks for the congratulations for Alex and Steph. Hey maybe there is still hope that I might get some grandchildren before I'm too old to enjoy them ;)

Ann, I'm happy to hear that your package arrived safely. I was just wondering about that yesterday.

Yes a hospital stay of that length is not fun (but much better than what Kim's poor Mom has been through). Hopefully I can keep it on the shorter side but only time will tell on that one.

Keep us updated on Holly please.

We are expecting 81º today:woohoo:

Today is Liz's birthday, so we are packing up the grandparents and heading down the road to go out to dinner with her.

Happy Birthday to Liz! Congratulations to Alex and Stephanie!

Ayup! Ship Captains still do ceremonies at sea! DCL does them at sea and on Castaway Cay! I think thats awsome they want to get married on the ocean blue.

I am still only working part time, its nice to finally see a dollar or two coming out of my travel ventures. The price for the seminars was perfect and I actually have the funds to get me there, I am very grateful to be getting "home" again. Mom and I are still cruising next february, just the two of us. We wont really be alone tho-the WDW Radio group is sailing with us and my TA Company is the sponsor. Mom is buying a house in Kissimmee she plans to move in by July. I will spend a couple days pre cruise at her house and booked POFQ with a wdw radio friend for after :)

Happy Thursday my Threadkillers!

This is one of those times, it's easier to reply than quote...

Robin, What Ann asked - how did he propose?

Robin, Like Ann said - easy, peasy surgery! If that's possible! :thumbsup2

Thanks Ann - about the Celiac's. They actually genetically tested her for that, after telling her 3 times she didn't have it. :sad2: But, they are erring on caution's side with the new diet. :confused3

Major {{HUGS}} for Holly and you both! :goodvibes

Robin - Grandkids galore! :thumbsup2 Congrats again!

Colleen, sounds like great fun! :cool1:

I have no idea how he proposed:confused3 I never thought to ask.

I'm not sure if I will have grandchildren galore but I'm hoping for a few at least. Unfortunately they will all probably be far away which will be hard.

Easy, peasy surgery..... I think that would be fantastic but I'm not holding out much hope for that.

How is your mom handling being home with time?

We have a long weekend here this weekend and it looks like some rain for today and tomorrow but after that it seems it's going to be much better.

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi Threadkillers!

Just a quick update on Holly. A good news/bad news type of thing. The good news is she's getting more insulin after the glucose curve test - she wasn't getting enough. This should take away some of the diabetes symptoms (drinking & peeing too much). The bad news is that she's more of a severe diabetic than we were hoping.

More good news/bad news. We are testing her for Cushing Disease Monday and we'll get the results a few days after that. Unfortunately, the doctor thinks she has that. The up side is that's the only other thing she thinks she has. It is a controllable disease with a pill. But it also means it's somewhat life limiting - 2 to 4 years.

However, I'll take those years and be grateful for every day. I thought a week ago she was a gonner.

Take care and I hope everyone is doing well!

Hello TKers...

Kim,
I am so sorry to see your mom was still having problems.. :flower3:
I hope they find out whats going on soon and get her well again.

Robin,
I hope your time in the hosp. fly's by, and then you can take care of your arm.
 Do you have a laptop?....We could keep you company, while your there, if your feeling up to it!::yes::

Ohhh Ann, :hug::dog:
Holly dog has the BEST of owners! She is so lucky to have you...Its never easy to see your little friend suffer..but I know you and Tom will do well helping her feel better because of your obvious love for her.

DU,
As always I'm wishing you good luck, I will keep you in my prayers for jobs.
I hope this new lead pans out:wizard:

TW,
Its great to hear your TA venture is starting to pay off...your trip sounds like it will be both productive and fun...who could ask for more!:thumbsup2

PD, :wave2:

Well I pinched a nerve in my back ( not sure how)and had shooting pain down the front of my thigh(two Mondays ago)when I tried to stand straight. I waited a few days to see if it would get better, but I was walking around like an old lady..all hunched over..(work was real fun) and had trouble sleeping at night. So I went to a chiropractor last Monday and he helped it a lot..I was able to straighten up and the shooting lessened, I still have a dull ache there after a day at work, but nowhere near the pain I was going through before.
Other than that I have been working...It seems to rain on every day off, so my gardens are not in great shape..the tractor is still in the shop, but the good news with that is the cost shouldn't be as bad as we thought it would.;) the not so good news is its going to take another week...so my grass is starting to look like hay...Too bad I don't still have the horses...LOL

I'm off to enjoy this beautiful evening, after after a long day...:faint:
:idea:Maybe a glass of wine on the deck!:goodvibes

TTFNpaw:

sitting here surfing from my iPod touch, getting ready to do some laundry...

Funny thing about Facebook: a cousin of John's that lives in Germany, that we havent seen since Adrian was only a couple months old, found me yesterday! I had her address up until she got married and her first boy was born. Her oldest is now ten~ its very cool how technology helps keep people in touch.

ITA Colleen!

Speaking of :laundy:, my dryer stopped tumbling tonight. Matt, who was using it then, was not happy. :confused3 What can I do at midnight on a Sat? :sad2:

Thanks Robin! I then had 3 loads of laundry to do tonight! And I left another load for another day! :laundy: :rolleyes1

Am I nuts? Don't answer that. ;) I dragged out my Disney luggage tonight, and I'm not leaving for 2 weeks! I filled the air matress, to make sure it has no leaks, and I'm ADAMANT about NOT leaving the cap at home this time! :sad2: I know every trip is exciting, but this is our longest (without Matt tho too :sad1: ) and I want it to be fun also! 11 nights with 7 day hoppers, so I'm FORCED to take some downtime, which I've never done - EVER! Mind you, my downtime means DTD, mini-golf and DTD again for Toy Story 3 on opening day 6/18! 3 non-park days, ARE downtime for me. ;) I might actually see Kellly at a pool too! :thumbsup2

Thanks for indulging me! :goodvibes

You had to give the dryer a good work out just to make sure it was doing it's job right:thumbsup2

Are you nuts :scratchin .......... well...... since you asked ........... :lmao:

No I suppose not, if it prolongs the fun any, I say go for it.

You can also spend some time resort hopping, just checking out what the different resorts look like, have available etc. That is always fun but still gets you your Disney fix on your off days. You could go around and collect a squished penny from each different resort, if you collect those kinds of things.

I wish I were coming along too, sounds like great fun :cheer2:

Thanks Robin & Colleen! Now, I'm getting nervous! 13 days!

And, Mom is BACK in the hospital, AGAIN! :rolleyes1 :confused3 :sad2:

Hi Everyone!

Kim - I'm SO sorry your mom is back in the hospital...but happy you are preparing for your trip! I say take the luggage down!

HI Betsy - it was so nice to get your newsy post! We've missed you! I hope your back feels better. Don't go riding on your tractor and irritate it!

Hiya TW & Robin! Sorry I've been MIA. You two & Kim has kept this thread going!

Well, I have some good news about Holly. She doesn't have Cushings! The doc also thinks she doesn't have anything else, so that's real good news.

Unfortunately, she's had her insulin increased as she is more severe of a diabetic than we thought. She was doing real well with the increased dosage and all of a sudden - yesterday - more water, more accidents. We'll see how the next few days go and we may need to get her another glucose test before the scheduled one on 6/25. *sigh* these accidents are not a good thing....

I gotta scoot....meeting my friend for coffee.

Take care!
