Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

My surgery is set for June 23.

I'm doing okay so far except I've got this real problem with my left arm. I've been seeing my chiropractor since we got home from the cruise and there is some improvement but it is very slow going.

I'm not looking forward to the surgery but with any luck I will get thru it and there will be no cancer and I can get on with my life again. This type of tumor can be cancer or not, too hard to tell without taking it out. Even if it is cancer it is usually the type that is cured by removing it. The doctor said if it were cancerous that she would still be sending me to a cancer clinic to make sure there was no more treatment that they thought was necessary.
:scared1::scared1::scared1: Crap on crap!

I am sure you will be fine, like the dr said if he thought it was more serious...the whole procedure would be moved up.:hug::hug::hug::hug:
You are in my Thoughts & Prayers.

I dunno where we'll be on the 23rd. Probably Pennsylvania.
Where in PA???????:confused3

James received his first varsity letter last night for Band. First EVER in our whole family to ever get a varsity letter!!!!:laughing::laughing:

I sent out a BOATLOAD of resumes this week. 2 very interesting jobs close to home too. We shall see. I need a job so i can relax a bit!:headache: WDW is for other people these days. YUK!

I went to a job fair in NJ this past week......:scared1: I swear 98% of all the people there were over 50! We should all be thinkin of retirement not starting over. Anyhow it was a BUST. Lots of tables to be a Insurance Salesman, Tupperware salesman, Avon lady, Pest Control salesman....etc. I left after about 30 mins.

Everything is on hold, and I refuse to even go near a store or shop online!!!!:headache:

Otherwise the weather is good!:yay:

Thanks to everyone for your well wishes on my upcoming surgery.

I'm not too worried about the outcome, more worried about the impact of the surgery itself;) I'm thinking it will probably be much easier than I think because of course we always expect the worst.

Varsity letters is a concept that I'm pretty sure that we do not have here. I've never heard of it anyway. Congratulations to James on his achievement and hopefully he will have several more in his future:teacher:

DU, I hope that you find a job real soon. It must be horrible being in your position.

We always have the worry with our business too that something will happen and we will have no work and have to shut down. So far we are limping along as best as we can.

Hello my TKer peeps! :wave2:

I have been trying to get my gardens together on my off times from work...it has been rainy here, except for the last few days...So Im way behind..

Robin,
Please keep us posted and Ill will be sending Pixiedust , and prayer or two, too also if you don't mind...:wizard::hug:

I had to bring Albert into work with me the other day...He needed an heartworm test(neg), so I could start him on the Iverhart. He did so well I couldn't believe how good he was..sat on my lap or in his crate next to my chair. We received a years worth of free Iverhart. :), we also received free advantix too...So there are some perks from work..Not that much of a big deal, but I'll take it..Oh we also get 20% off anything we need from there. Including all vet visits! 50% after we reach a year or employment:goodvibes...that will be in June.:thumbsup2

Mike doesnt even bother with the job fairs anymore...they are just a waste of time...I hope you have better luck then he has had..DU..pixiedust: you are a little younger at least, and in a more urban area. So you will be back workin in no time I'm sure:thumbsup2

I sent out the April newsletter to all of you..... the May one will be on the way ASAP... ;)

Well I am off , to visit with the DGGs, and my DS...
I hope you all are enjoying your weekends:sunny:

Congrats to James!!! :thumbsup2 I hope Kelly gets one of those (for band) someday! I'm not even sure if Girls get Letters?:confused3 Honestly, what surprised me most, was that I forgot James was in HS already!

DU, hang in there - I know, that's easy for ME to say - but really, you seem sooo employable, and I pray you find something soon! (Mike, too!) :goodvibes

WOW! NOT shopping?! I'd lose it right there!! ;) You're a better person than I! :thumbsup2

Hi DU - I'm home! Sorry I've not been on-line. I've been busy these last few days. Hollydog is having issues and they're running some tests. They think she has either diabetes or cushings disease. Which will mean some steady medication for her, but not life threatening (thank God!).

We're gearing up for our trip. You asked where we would be in PA - We're going to Pittsburgh to visit Tom's folks (Uniontown area).

I hope you're doing well. Any luck on the job search?

How's everyone else? Thinking of you threadkillers!

We've got a rainy day here today and maybe for tomorrow too.

Liz is home, has been since Wednesday night, so I've been busy spending time with her.

She is staying until Monday afternoon.

Anybody got exciting plans for today?

Hi Robin! Enjoy your time with Liz. It's going to be 90 and sunney here!

Tonight is our regular Friday card game. I've got to do some cleaning before they arrive. Wings, veggies for dinner. Strawberries & ice-cream for dessert. Snacks are chips, m&ms & nuts. Not much work there, but all yummies to me!

I went out and purchased a bathing suit for the trip. I thought it would be a good idea to have 2 suits so I can swim every day and let one of them dry.

The folks left for Michigan this morning for the summer. They won't be back until September.....they were very excited and have tons-o-fun!

Other than that, we're just waiting to hear about the lab results for Hollydog. Based on everything we've read, she's probably got Cushings disease which will be pretty manageable with a pill every day. I hope it's not doggie diabetes - I SO don't want to give her a shot....but I will! As long as she doesn't suffer, I'm okay.

Hope everyone is having a GREAT day!

Hey all,
I am happy to report I got all my flower boxes filled and made four hanging baskets too!...
I still have to weed a few gardens, but I'll get to them some day...Its really nice out today, but I have to be to work at 1:00.

Of course our newish lawn tractor is leaking oil...and we cant go without one..So we have someone coming to pick it up today..It could take 2 weeks to get it back..Oh well maybe someone would like to hay our yard...by then...It would help pay for the repair...LOL

Ann,
So sorry to hear about Holly dog....paw: Please keep us posted.
I'm sending my PD and prayers:hug:

Robin,
Tell Liz I said Hey .....Enjoy your visit!

DU,
Don't give up...Something will turn up..:flower3:

Well I'm off to find something to eat..:)

Have a good day:wizard:

Ann, I hope that you get some good news about Holly. She is such a little sweetie. :goodvibes

All your treats sound yummy and your weather sounds even yummier :)

Betsy, have a great day and I hope you get your lawn mower back soon, and cheaply too.

Hi everyone!

Well, the news yesterday wasn't great. Holly has diabetes and they need to do more tests because she probably has cushings disease as well. They have to get the diabetes under control first before more tests can be done.

So....we spent time at the vets again today and learned how to give her insulin shots. She had her first one tonight (we gave her saline practice shots today). Tom did it because I'll be in Charleston next week and he wants to be good with it.

Also, my thyroid decided to quit working so I'm also on a new medication. Both of us have test scheduled to make sure our dosage is right! When it rains it pours...right!?

The good news is - mine is fine. The not so good news is Holly has a tough row to hoe, but she should pull through. It's a matter of getting everything under control and keeping her from going critical. As long as she's not suffering - that's important to us!

Anway - cried a river yesterday and then pulled myself up by my bootstraps and got thru it! We're going to delay our trip by a month until she is completely stable. If she had problems while we were in the middle of no where and we couldn't get her help, we'd be devastated. The cushings test should be in a month. It's the right thing to do.

Hope ya'll are well and I'm thinking of you....

:hug::hug: Just to let ya know, hope it helps....my neighbors dog had diabetes. She was about 4 when it was diagnosed, she lasted till she was 17. Dog Diabetes isn't has severe as human diabetes.

Get your thyroid under control!!! NOW:thumbsup2

Thanks for the lovely sentiments DU. It is much appreciated.

I don't think you have posted those pictures of Makenzie here before. My goodness look how big she is :goodvibes And beautiful too of course :lovestruc

Ann, so sorry to hear about Holly and your thyroid. Please take good care of both.

Sorry to also hear that you had to postpone your trip but I agree that it is probably for the best. It was be horrible to not know where to find help quickly if you needed it.

Ann, as I posted on FB, so sorry to hear that Holly took that turn. :grouphug: She couldn't have better parents tho! I know you'll do whatever you can to help her! :goodvibes {{HUGS}} for you!!! And, don't forget to take care of yourself, too! P.S. Kelly asked if you'd be meeting us again in WDW. I told her you were very busy this summer with traveling and visiting, and also told her about Holly, and she's very sad about Holly and not seeing you again.

DU, Makenzie is growing up faster than James - is that possible?! We've been friends here soooo long, I guess! ;) She's adorable! :thumbsup2

Robin, take care of yourself, too! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the lovely surprise Kim:goodvibes

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers and grandmothers here on the TKers. :flower3:
