Robin - I'm sorry I didn't give you my itinerary. Here it is (subject to change if we're feeling froggy!)

Oklahoma City - Cowboy hall of fame, old OKC Stockyards, a steak house in the stock yards that's 100 yrs old, OKC Bombing memorial & an armory museum

Flagstaff AZ - Grand Canyon, Salsa Brava (restaurant), Painted Desert, Petrified Forest & a train ride thru a smaller canyon

San Diego - GRANDBABIES!!!! A day drive up the Pacific Coast Hwy (just a wee bit) visiting friends and family. Kids, grand babies, brother etc.

Great Salt Lake - gotta see if it has salt in it

Grand Tetons and Jackson Hole Wyoming. There's a BBQ Joint we've got to try. I think it's Bubbas

Hill City - centrally located for Mt. Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Little Big Horn, Deadwood and we're going to ride a train through the black hills.

Then we're going to goof around from South Dakota to Erie PA where we're visiting one of our friends. If money or time are an option - this is going to be removed - the friend knows it's a tentative visit.

Pittsburgh, PA - this is Tom's home town and we have lots of friends and family to see.

Virginia - we're going to pick up the Blue Ridge Parkway but 20 miles East of it is a place that's supposed to have the South's best blackberry pie. So - we're going to have pie!

The Blue Ridge Parkway - from start to about 30 miles before the very end.

Mountain City, TN - we're going to see Susan (tinknutt). While we're staying with her, we're going to see Ashville, NC and the Biltmore (plus the Biltmore McDonalds) Boone, NC a couple of small towns and zip-lining!

Stone Mountain, GA - just a quick visit

.....then home!

The trip should take about 6 weeks and we're really excited about it! We can hardly wait!

If I had unlimited internet - I would have one in a flash! Guess I'll wait until AT&T changes their mind or they add another carrier.....

Ann, of course you were under no obligation to give me your itinerary but how am I going to live vicariously through your travel plans if I don't know where I am :rotfl2:

Sounds like you have a very full plan and it will be tons of fun.

Can't wait to hear all about it.

I have been to the Biltmore Estate. It is beautiful there.

Hi Threadkillers! I tried to post on my phone, but no luck. All I was able to post was "H"....so I figured I better edit this! Tom and I are getting down to the wire for our trip. Pulling out the suitcases this evening and doing all the cleaning so when we return the house isn't a wreck!

Ya'll take care and I hope everyone is having a great day!

Ann :goodvibes not long now.

Went with my mom to the cancer clinic today.

It turned out really well actually.

No chemo, no radiation but drug therapy for 5 years.

One pill a day for 5 years and her chances of recurrence within 10 years drops from 20% to 10%.

She is willing to take that pill and hope for the best.

Great news Robin!

Absolutely. :)

We had lunch at a chinese buffet place before her appointment.

Her fortune said ......... good news will come from far away.

Well, we live an hour away from the cancer clinic, so we took that as a good omen.:thumbsup2

Turns out that it was;)

Hiya Threadkillers! Oklahoma City is a fine place to visit! I've posted more pics on facebook.

The OKC Bombing Memorial is beautiful and haunting and the museum (they don't allow pics) truly brings you back to that day. Like nothing I've ever seen.

The Cowboy Heritage Museum (Cowboy hall of fame) was great, but again not a lot of picture opportunity with museum pieces. I did post the pic of the End of the Trail Sculpture....it's HUGE! The artwork there was incredible and it's amazing how large the collections are. They are serious about their art!

Tom enjoyed the armory museum (he's an avid sports shooter). They had a large collection of guns from the Revolutionary War to the War on Terror. They also had a bunch of Hitler's personal items. This was a military museum and since Tom is retired military....

The Old OKC Stockyards are cool! Just like a real stock yard - still working. We had dinner at Cattlemens Steakhouse - awesome! The beef was incredible and so local, the cows could have walked to the restaurant!

Anyway - tomorrow is New Mexico for an over night stay (driving all day) then off to the Grand Canyon!

Ya'll take care and I'm thinking of you!

:sad1: I am bringing my dog to the vet tomorrow to have him put to sleep. He was diagnosed with cancer about 2 months ago and it was untreatable. He is only 8 1/2. I am sooo sad. I simply love and adore my dog!
