Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Robin - please keep us posted and I hope everything is hunky-dorey!

I made a quick trip to South Carolina with SWHNN. Her BIL had a stroke and isn't doing well. He needs constant attention right now, so we volunteered a day to give everyone a break. SWHNN has a conference this week and won't be able to go back up, so I'll go by myself if they need me. So....if you don't hear from me, don't worry!

Today I'm doing some house cleaning and it's going to be beautiful, so I'm opening up the windows, too! Yeah 80 degree weather!

Ya'll take care and good luck Robin!

Ann, you are so sweet and helpful to anyone who needs it. :goodvibes

Today it is summer here :woohoo: :dance3:

It's fantabulous. Except that so far I've spent most of the day indoors :guilty:

It is supposed to be great weather all weekend long. I am so looking forward to that.

 Hello there. I would be super excited too if I were going to WDW in December :thumbsup2

I can hardly wait!!! Its going to be my first WDW Christmas.

Sounds exciting.

I have never been there before at Christmas.

I have been at the very first of the new year.

I think we were at Epcot once on January 1. It was very quiet that day.

We did manage to see a lot of the Christmas decorating though because it was still up.

It was very nice.

Are you going to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party? Is that what it is called? Can't remember for sure.

I wanted to go to the Very Merry Christmas party and everytime I mention it darling fiance hims and haws.....of course. He REALLY wants to go to Universal Studios. Perhaps I can go solo to MVMCP.

Happy Easter Thread Killers & Lurkers Alike!

:santa:

LilMissDisney. we have been to WDW at Christmas time a number of times. It is my favorite time of the year to go.

Not only are all the parks decorated for the season, there are special shows to see. Plus, some attractions, "Country Bears" comes to mind,....change the usual show to a Christmas themed show.

Most of the resorts had a ginger bread house contest too. I don't know if they will this year or not.

Anyway, you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

G'day threadkillers.

Hope everyone is having a nice day.

 Hi BP.

Hi threadkillers!

I hope everyone is well. I've been MIA and not because I had to go to South Carolina. Things are slowly (and I mean SLOWLY) improving - but any improvement is good!

My life has been blissfully dull. Things are quiet around here - LOVING the weather and reading lots of books.

Tonight I have Bunco and our standing card game was moved to Thursday (usually Friday). I'm hosting and I've got a hankering to make three things: Mac & Cheese, Focaccia bread and Eclairs...so that's the menu, along with a salad. It's been years since I've made eclairs - so wish me luck!

Last night was our monthly dinner out with some friends and we had a lovely time.

Other than that....lots of fountain sodas, books and a few TV movies!

Ya'll take care and I hope your days are just as delightfully uneventful!

:scared1:

Just thought it was needed again.

It's April right? Well, Kelly's skating coach came over tonight (after driving her home after a lesson - huge plus!) to go over her SUMMER schedule and classes and private lessons and group sessions and $$$! Yikes! Not meaning to bore anyone, but giving you something to read - ;) Looks like she'll be doing Tues & Wed power sessions and spin classes as well as private lessons those days, plus possibly a group session on Thursday, plus she might help her coach teach some tots on Tues. And, then there's the public skating she can do several times each week, mainly Mon & Fri nights, but there are more/other times she can do now too, because of the level she's in now. $500+ so far. If she adds the group lesson, even more $. :rolleyes1 And, all this, during the summer, when I don't work or earn any $$! :sad2: Do you know what my ungrateful DD said? "Why don't you work over the summer then?" :scared1: Her coach and I looked at each other, and I asked her coach, "is she close enough for Me to hit her?", and her coach gave her a polite tap upside her head for me! :thumbsup2 And, it's just April! She still has ice show practices, private lessons, then ice show, then a 6week group lesson in her new level, and THEN this summer schedule! I can't believe we have to plan this far in advance, AND pay!

Bored yet? ;)

Oh Kim, are the expectations of our children not incredible????? Drives me crazy!!!!!

How is your mom doing?

Hi everyone!

Kim - it's amazing what comes out of the mouths of babes. Is she looking to do serious competition skating as she gets older? That is a huge investment, but her skating is adorable! Please let us know how your mom is...

Hiya TW, PD & Robin! The thread has been slow and I've been missing everyone! Card game tonight. DH said he didn't want eclairs he wanted orange poppy seed cake (easy, EASY) so we have one cooling on the shelf! Rest of the menu stays as planned.

I'm off to get a soda before I start my day - ya'll take care!

Bored yet? ;)

Nope. :teeth: Happy to listen to anything you have to tell us Kim.

On the subject of Kelly and kids in general..... yep they are sometimes a piece of work aren't they. :sad2:

Now if you DID have the nerve to work all summer long (in her perspective), you would be breaking with tradition and abandoning her for the summer :lmao:

Besides how does she plan on getting to all of these skating things if you are working all summer?

It is a no win situation, whichever way you look at it. :3dglasses

Yup, they don't understand what they are asking sometimes.

Can't wait until they have children of their own:rolleyes1

Ann you cake sounds delicious and I would probably like that better than the eclairs but I know that anything you make is wonderful :goodvibes I know this from personal experience.

Enjoy your soda and have a great day today.

I haven't decided yet what I'm going to do today.

It is Rick's birthday.

I really need groceries, I'm trying to get some stuff in the house organized etc.

Tonight there is a meeting to go over the plans for the empty field behind us. We've know ever since we've lived here that housing was planned for there someday. We made it 23 years without anything so far. Now there is a plan.

Unfortunately that plan calls for taking down half of the wooded lot that is on that parcel of land. Our area is very under treed and people are quite upset that they would even consider taking down part of the bush to put up a few houses.

So, tonight there is a public meeting. I think I'll go along just to see what's happening.

Thanks pd! Seriously, WHAT do they think?! Silver spoon and all! :rolleyes1

Mom has been home for a few weeks now, thankfully! Not sure that she's any better, but I guess she just has to deal with the colitis. Dehydration is the biggest problem. I know my niece and nephew (blamemysister's kids) spent a night over there last week and the kids said the food was 'bland' - not their word, but my and their mom's interpretation of what was fed. Maybe Mom has been adhering to advice? :confused3 Thanks for asking!

Thanks Ann! I don't know how serious she might become, she just likes it more than anything else she's ever done before, and she's done other things (soccer/softball/cross-country) that's she enjoyed and she was good/acceptable at, but skating seems to come naturally for her and she is MOST dedicated to this ONE activity over her others (band & GS). Her last, and only, 2 competitions just sparked the fire even higher! :rolleyes1 She was SO MAD when I told her and her coach a few weeks ago that she'd miss the June competition - until earlier tonight, when I showed her our e-tickets for WDW for 11 nights! :yay: THEN she understood!

She also got her report card - high Honor Roll, again. How, or why, do you hold someone like her back? Wouldn't I be failing her, as a parent, if I didn't encourage/support and PAY for all she's good at? Please, I'm not bragging - trust me, these 'successes' of hers cost me! THAT is MY issue. How do other families get $$ support to let their kids do what they need or want or should do? Now I'm soap-boxing.

Mom update above. I've overstepped the speak time, I think. Sorry. :guilty:

Nope. :teeth: Happy to listen to anything you have to tell us Kim.

Thanks Robin! Yes, if I 'had the nerve to work all summer" :rotfl2: she would have NO ONE to take her, plus she'd be who knows where in camp or childcare all summer! She wouldn't be skating, that's for sure! Great Mom advice! Thanks!

Happy Birthday to Rick!:goodvibes
HUGE DITTO!!!
