Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Hey all.

Today (well technically yesterday now), I got a really cool gift.

A friend won free tickets to a Martina McBride/Trace Adkins concert.

She couldn't use them, so she offered them to me.

She won them this morning and the concert was tonight. Not much notice but what the heck.

All it took was a 2 hour drive into Michigan and back.

BUT the concert was awesome. I took my mom with me. I had 4 tickets but couldn't think of anyone else who would want to go.

We even got a surprise bonus performance by Kid Rock

The whole experience was well worth what it cost me to go ($9.50 for border crossing fees, $15.00 for parking, $3.50 for a bottle of diet coke, a little over a 1/4 tank of gasoline for my car) We did also stop along the way for some dinner before the concert.

We enjoyed it hugely.

Things are rarely ever truly free, I agree.

No I've not had any problems at all.

I've not been on a whole lot lately though.

I like Kid Rock too but then I also like Eminem and a lot of people don't.

Liz is home for the weekend. She's doing laundry, we're going shopping at Walmart and she's going thru some of her stuff that she's got left here.

Next weekend she is moving into a new place with her boyfriend, Travis.

It will be interesting to see how it all works out. She's not necessarily the most easy person to live with

Hi Everyone!

Robin - Congrats on the tickets. I bet the concert was AWESOME!

I have a friend flying in from California (to Orlando) and I'm meeting her for brunch - she's tied up with work after that. I also thought it was a great opportunity to spend a few days in Disney.

So....I'm going to visit my friend, visit DD, DSIL & the grand babies in the afternoon and then spend Monday and Tuesday in Disney! I wanted to go one more time before my passes expire, because I'm not renewing them this year with all the traveling we're hoping to do.

Speaking of traveling....the sister trip is no longer in Charleston, SC because the schedules won't mesh (their work schedules...barring illness, I was pretty open). Anyway, we're meeting in Orlando the first week of April. No Disney unless I can talk them into it, but some quality sister time.

In between this Orlando trip & the next is our trip to Sarasota (March). I love it when you have one trip a month scheduled.....makes me happy!

Ya'll take care and I'll chat with you when I get back....leaving EARLY tomorrow!

My Mom, who was already scheduled for knee cartilage removal surgery on Friday, was admitted to the hospital earlier tonight, for an unrelated illness. She hasn't been feeling well for a couple weeks, and her Dr. told her to go to the ER (after previous visits), and she was admitted, because ER didn't know what was wrong with her. Thoughts and prayers, please?

Mind you, I got BOTH of these SEPERATE pieces of info, the surgery and the admit in the SAME DAY, from Rory's wife (surgery), and my other bro, John (admit). Nice of my parents to keep their oldest child informed.

Thanks Robin. No news yet. She's having an upper and lower GI tomorrow, to look for some reason for this. I'm sure there'll be no surgery Friday. Her bloodcount is also low, and they're talking about a possible transfusion.
