Hey TK'ers

All the Wake, Funeral, Caterers. and Obit for tommorrows paper been made. Called everyone. Everything will be on Wednesday.

We have a clubhouse here where we live, very nice place...fireplace, all fancy furniture...etc. The staff here told me that thay will cleanup everything before & after...I dont have to worry for anything there. What a load off my mind. That was soooooo nice.

Now it's just the little things to do, buy Dad a Shirt, James shoes...stuff like that.

It just dawned on me today, that I dont think a day ever went by that I didnt talk to Mom!

What a tough day for you! It is fantastic that you have the clubhouse that you can use and that they are so great about getting it ready and cleaning up. I'm sure that is a load off of your mind.

I remember looking for something to wear when my Dad died. Just seemed to walk around the mall in a daze. I wish you luck with that. It is so hard!

How fortunate you are that you had the opportunity to talk with your mom every day! Not many (if any) people can say that. What a blessing for both of you! You are also are so lucky to have had your Mom for so long. You helped her so much. As you take care of everything now, I'm sure she is looking down from heaven proud as can be of her son. She can now appreciate all that you are always doing for your family!

My Moms pain went away tonight. She is is Heaven taking care of the babies! Thats what she said she always wanted to do when she left this earth.

Hello everyone! I hardly ever have time to write and sometimes go days without checking the forums so I post little for that reason. I try to stay caught up with all of you!
My life is so very busy with my real job, my two side jobs (Cake business and Pampered Chef), and school, somedays I don't know what I am doing. I'll have to post at least once a week now that BP has the NASCAR thread up and running again... and I'll try to do better about saying hi!

83 days until vacationing with The Mouse! I did buy a small ownership in BLT, and am happy to say after trying for two and a half hours yesterday I was able to move my December reservations to the Treehouse Villas!

I hope everyone has a good week, with warm weather and the promise of Spring. DU - don't forget to take care of yourself this week too, your Dad and James need you.

Very nice. Isn't it sad how we have to sum up 79 years in a few paragraphs? I think it is great that you are having contributions go to St. Jude's instead of flowers. Especially appropriate as your mom wants to take care of the children.

Mom HATED FLOWERS at Funereals, and didnt even like them inside the house. Flowers are meant for outside...and what a waste of $ for Funerals.
Every month she sent $ to St. Judes.

Then I think that you did a very good job of planning things for her.

Now me, I love flowers, inside or outside, doesn't matter to me.

Yes they are a waste of money, especially for funerals where they are looked at quite often for a short period of time (in your mom's case about half a day) and then sat out in a cemetery.

I have been keeping you, James and your family in my prayers..
She will always be with you to talk to, as she will always be there in your heart ...
My father died 20 years ago, last wed. (Feb. 3)...I still talk to him...he just agrees with me more now then he use to..

Today we are waiting to hear if rumors will turn out to be true and they will be doing another layoff today ...I am praying that mike doesnt come home early today..and he can go back to work tomorrow..

At least we are getting some warmer weather ..I may not have to have a fire today... ..I am sure we wont get rid of much snow tho, as we live on the north side of the mt....I will however be able to watch it melt off the mt. across the road from me ..Good enough for now

I also have a ton of cleaning to do..with the extra day I dont clean, because of Mike being home on Mondays...
So Im off to be my alter ego ..for the day.... "Domestic Engineer Diva"...

A very nice obituary...I agree with PD - it's very difficult to summarize someone's entire life in a few paragraphs. I like that you put her enjoyment of "Law & Order". Tom's mother loved to watch that show and it's one of the things I remember most about her.

DP - Spending P&PD your way for Mike. I hope all goes well. Enjoy your Domestic Diva Day. That will be me tomorrow.

When I was shopping yesterday I got a wild hair and today I made homemade Buttermilk Blue Cheese Dressing for my parents. I purchased some really amazing artisan blue cheese. I'm not a huge fan of the dressing - I like it well enough - but I dislike the bottled stuff immensely.

Anyway, it turned out really good and they're gonna love it. They're going to have it tonight - I'll let you know how it goes.

We forgot sooooooooooooo many things....Oh well. Girls Scout Leader..etc.

Suit is clean & pressed, shirt ironed, shoes polished, hair is cut, car is washed (Mom would kill me if I showed up @ her Funeral in a dirty car) all arraingments have been made, the phone has (Finally)stopped ringing...and its sooooooooooooooo quiet here!!!!!

Not a good day here...Mike got layed off today...
So we both will be looking for jobs...
Its really kind of sad ..after working some place for 30 years, there are alot of people he will miss ...
