Hiya Threadkillers!

I hope everyone had a good day. I spent the morning talking with my friend. She's having a tough time with her father - he has alzheimers. He decided the other day that it was time to go and tried to jump out of a moving car! He's all right, but my friends nerves are shot - he's been quite a handful. She's got him lined up for a nursing home in September, but it's hectic until then there's never a dull moment. Anyway, her husband watched her and we had a nice gab session.

Then this afternoon I went to a viewing for a friend who died. We've sat in the same pew with him for 8 years and literally from one breath to the next, he just....died. Anyway, I found out the day after he died that he was one of the vice-principals from my highschool. I never knew his last name at church, but as soon as my dad told me his full name, I knew EXACTLY who he was. Twenty-five years is a long time and he had changed quite a bit. Anyway, he was a really nice guy and used to bring flowers for all the ladies who sat around him. He was a big ol' teddy bear in a motorized wheelchair. Well, the line to speak to his family & view was 30 minutes for us and when we left, they were lined up out the door and around the building.

I also watched "Citizen Kane" this evening. I LOVE classic movies, but I've never seen it before. I can see why critics everywhere consider it the best movie ever made - it was amazing!

Oiy! I'm long winded today!

We are leaving late afternoon tomorrow and not getting home until Monday sometime.

The holiday we are having on Monday is a "civic" holiday.

It really does not celebrate anything other than giving people a long weekend to enjoy in the middle of the summer

I am also on invisible. I put it on years ago and just left it that way.

We are headed north this weekend. We are going to another airplane competition.

This one is the Canadian National Championships.

Who knows Maybe I will come home with a National Champion in my vehicle

The drive is long for this one and it's a three day competition instead of two, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

So we are breaking it half for the drive and arriving a bit early to settle in.

I will be travelling with Rick and a friend of ours, Cliff. His wife has decided to stay home this time.

I always say, "I'm out of style and proud of it!" I've reached an age where comfort for exceeds my need for being in style. Although, I have to say I've been that way since my early 30's. The two sister's are hanging on to their style and constantly try to get me back IN style, but it's futile, I tell you...futile!

That's (and personality wise) I'm definately the side-kick friend in Mama Mia. I may be out of style and slightly dumpy - but I'm not shy and always game!

Morning my Threadkillers!

Party turned out good last night, John's Dad said he really enjoyed it~

Mika's got another doc appt this am, she is also doing very well lately! Except for the weight she lost (she's down almost 10 pounds still) she looks purty dern healthy~Only a couple more weeks and John will get the week at the beach with her that he has so been looking forward to

The Musikfest starts this weekend which means I've got another photo gig to do! Betsy and DU, how far from Bethlehem are you guys? My enquiring mind would like to know...
