Hey that's great that you got the extra night Kim.

I'm thinking that you might be too tired to do much of anything though.

If you have to get up early to travel the day before and go to the premiere and the party.

Factoring in the time zone differences:confused3 and the fact that you will have to be travelling back that day?

Do you know your flight times yet?

I'd say, go with a bunch of different ideas and see what you feel like doing when the day gets here.

I can't help you with what to do though because I've only really been there once and passing thru another time.

Maybe Brenda would have some ideas for you, or even Ann.

Colleen, I'm sorry to have to report back to you that I could not find a Captain Mickey antenna topper:guilty:

They had NONE onboard the ship.

I asked and they said they hadn't had them for quite some time.

I also checked every single Disney store that I went in, just in case there happened to be some but no luck:confused3

Maybe you can ask someone to check on the Magic, just in case there are some there.

I will Robin, Thank you *so* much for trying~ Aisling and Brenda board the Magic in December...I am sure they'll have no problem checking for me.

Thanks for the welcomes everyone!

My turn to welcome you

Thanks so much! I'm trying my best to make my PTR interesting but I have to admit I have no experience in the trip report area

I should be hearing something in the next week or two. The waiting is killing me! If I get in I have a feeling that i'm going to love working for Disney so much that i'm going to end up moving to Orlando and working for the mouse for the rest of my life :rotfl: Which would be A-OK with me

Kiminy,

I would call the hotel you are staying at (they may even offer a shuttle)
or ask the folks coordinating your trip what there is local to the event.

LA is HUGE! There's lots to do, it's getting to them that's the trick.

You could goto tvtix.com and see if there are any shows taping while you are there.

...that's my 2 cents worth...

When Rose and I went to Cali we had a car. We hit Sunset Blvd, Graumann's Theatre area, then hit Santa Monica Blvd and took it all the way out to the Santa Monica Pier. We visited Universal and CBS studios too.

Well Annalisa, you're off to a great start!

I've only read the family intro and Halloween tribute so far and look forward to reading more...I am currently a housewife and student thanks to a layoff this time last year and have lots more time to read when hubby is at work. Tomorrow I will catch back up on the trippies...I read better when he's not here ;)

I seriously would work for Disney too. I dream of being an Imagineer one day- but until hubby agrees to move to Florida with me I have to be content in simply visiting.

Hi Threadkillers!

Annalisa (if you stick around you get a nickname...SWTD) - you ARE off to a good start on your pre-trip report. I hope you will post pics of your trip report. Also, you might consider the Disney Restaurant Pictures Thread...I'd love to see your Victoria & Alberts dishes.

My name is Ann...I'm the resident foodie of the thread. I apologize if I make your eyes glaze over in boredom from waxing poetic about dishes.

TW & Kim - I like your ideas for Kim's LA visit. What about visiting Disneyland? Anaheim isn't too far away and you can pretty much see everything in a day.

Well, I have to tell you, I made some really interesting mashed potatoes. I didn't add anything unusual to the dish (milk, butter, salt & garlic). But I BAKED the potatoes first, then peeled and mashed them. It gave them a nice richness. Anyway, I liked it. I'm still waiting on Mary to send me the pic of the cake sliced so ya'll can see the inside.

Well, ya'll take care and I'll check in later!

Thanks for reading! Being an imagineer would be a dream come true. I'm trying to convince my mom to move to Florida with me so until that happens I have to just visit too. I mean come on why can't we just move now?! :rotfl:

I get my own nickname?! That makes me feel crazy special. I just got a new camera so that I can take as many photos as humanly possibly. Thanks for mentioning the restaraunt picture thread; I have to remember to take pictures of my food before I eat it XD

I grew up in Seattle and it's made food pretty much 3/4 of my life XD I'm looking forward to your delicious food poetry

Okay...I have to ask....what is "XD"?

Haha i'm sorry. XD Is a face that's laughing. You have to look at it sideways though. Like :-), except the eyes are crossed because it's laughing. I use it way too much

The hotel can tell them if there's a way to get to Anaheim from LA. Unless Kim goes ahead and rents a car for the day. It's not a bad ride from LA to DL, I think it took Rose and me an hour.

I just noticed how weird my siggy looks all blank like that~Apparantly, we are not allowed to link a MySpace page from a DISboard signature, so I deleted the whole thing til I come up with a new one.

OIY WHADDA DAY!

Started the Extreme Home makeover. by cleaning out closets!
When I brought my 6 large Garbage bag full of crappolla out to the dumpster, 3 cops cars & 3 Ambulences were across the parking lot.

My neighbor Howie, had a massive heart attack & passed away in his house.:sad2: He was one I liked too! His son (from NYC) & grandsons were there (in fact they were at my house earlier looking for James) :guilty:

The neighbor on one side of him is a Dr. & the other side of him is a nurse....they both tried to help, until the ambulence came. No good. Now here is the sad (weird) part. His wife wouldnt let them take the body, untill the rest of the children arrived....some are over 100 miles away!

So they all left him there (I didnt think they could) and it wasnt until late tonight, The ambulence came back to take Howie. Howie was 67.:sad2:

Other then that I got ALOT done today! Parents room is almost done. The Hospital bed for Mom comes on Friday. However I ould NOT get Mom to let me donate any of her dozens of shoes. :headache: Some never been even worn. She was a shoe junkie. Since her operation her normal size 10 feet have swollen to 13!!!!:scared1: She can only wear crocs. That peeves her more than anything!:3dglasses

DU - I'm glad you're not a breakfast eater....it's my least favorite meal to make. How about BLT's with avocado and a garlic basil mayo for lunch?

Whatever you want! You da boss applesauce! Beggers cant be choosers!

We got an extra night's stay in L.A.!:cool1: Now, what to do?? :confused3
:confused3 DISNEYLAND!!!!! Whatsamatta wit you???????   :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Me thinks if they are taping TV shows, you have to be older than 16 to get in.

 DU

Not a very nice thing to have happen for you today.

Poor man :guilty:

Maybe you could slowly sneak your mom's extra shoes away? Get rid of a pair a week? Then she probably would not even notice they were missing.

Or would it be a big deal to just let her keep them if they mean so much to her:confused3

Unless Kim goes ahead and rents a car for the day.

:scratchin I think, if I know Kim at all, that she will not be wanting to drive in LA.

If I recall properly, Kim does not really like to drive on the busy highways.

You are correct. I wouldn't be driving tho, I'd make Marty do that, and I'd have to Mapquest everything. :rolleyes1 I don't like driving on Unfamiliar highways, reading Mapquest as I go, watching for everything, etc.....I do fine here tho. ;)
