Yikes! 12 hours since last post.

We had a mostly good day. Went to the Cubs game which was up and down throughout, making for an exciting game. Until the bottom of the 10th when we needed 2 runs and, only got one. :( But, Sammy Sosa passed Ernie Banks on the total Cubs homer list! Good for Sammy!!

And, to end the evening, the Good Humor truck made his first official visit to our block! :cool1:

What is it with doctors?

I've had all the tests that my doctor wanted me to have but can't go back to work until I go into his office to discuss the results with him. I just got off the phone with his appointments assistant and was told that he can't possibly see me until 4/27. Now I know this is only 1 week away but this vertigo has been going on since 2/9 and I'm getting mighty tired of it.

I quess I wouldn't be this upset EXCEPT that I no longer have the constant dizziness and just want to get off the disabled list as soon as possible.

Also on the same subject. My grandson was scheduled for open heart surgery this Thursday 4/22 and the Pediatric Cardiologist called my daughter early this morning that there is suddenly a scheduling conflict and the surgery has been postponed until 5/6.

Do these guys realize how much they disrupt the lives of their patients and patients families?????????

sorry you are having all of these delays phil. It is hard to have to delay things when you are all psyched up and ready to go, isn't it.

I am so sorry to hear about this delay, phil. It must be awful for your DGS and DD, and I know, you as well. :(

Phil....sorry to hear about the delay....best of luck in this!

Stepharoonie..... :wave2: feeling better i hope?

Crusin'.... I have never had the pleasure of bathing a cat....nor do i think i want to....bathed a fish....he didn't seem to mind....

speaking of the fish...i was reminded of that purchase when i read the thread about the "confusion" on whether an item was on sale or not...

you see, I bought this fish...an Oscar....at a pet shop...he was the only Oscar ... all alone in the pet shop tank...so, i had an aquarium...the price was right....so i bought him...

when i got him home and in his tank...i noticed something...his right eye was in a continuous spin....all googling around over and over..

so...i put him in a fish bowl and i take him back to the pet store...i was told :

"ALL SALES ARE FINAL"

well smell me!

so, i am stuck with a googly eyed fish....because of my fascination with that spinning eye, i would sit by the aquarium for hours...wondering why the eye did that..

over time...i grew fond of the little finner...so, for treats i would toss a nghtcrawlerto him...and googly eye or not...he always nabbed the worm...and slurped it down like a kid with a spaghetti noodle...

well, word of the slurpy googly eyed fish spread....people would drop by and ask to see him...

so I figured, "well...i have the fish bowl and i still have my little red wagon got for my 5th birthday....why not take this show on the road?"

so, on many evenings...i would net him out of the aquarium....take him up to the tub....give him a good scrubbing....place him in the fish bowl on the wagon...and we would happily walk around town.....tossing him a nightcrawler to slurp from time to time....

anyways...the fame of the slurpy googly eyed fish reached the owner of the pet store..he came and made an offer...wanting to display the slurpy googly eyed fish to attract customers...

i got 20 times what i paid for him...visitation rights...and...:

"THIS SALE WAS FINAL!"

Good Evening Kim....read your post about the Cubs game....what a game!

lots of talk around the watercooler by the clique concernng Mark Pryor....he may miss the season...that would be a blow to the Cubbies....

Maddox off to a slow start...Woods going ballistic...Clement holding his own...

Let's hope Pryor returns sooner than later....

hmmmm Brer_Papa, I have tons of fish....maybe I will have to try bathing them next. ;)

Sounds like you had yourself a fish with a personality. :p

Steph, is your ear feeling any better yet??

Personality?

maybe....he was a bit short on the brainwork....

he had "Stay" down pretty good....but never quite got the hang of "Rollover" or "fetch".....

I was afraid to teach him "play dead"...soeone might have...well...flushed him...(not mentioning any names....)

tons of fish?
I still have my little red wagon....keep me in mind if i decide to go ito "fish walking" to pick up a few extra bucks....

Yes, it was a great game, until the bottom of the 10th.

Clement won again today. He's really surpassing all the 'more famous' Cubs pitchers right now altho, pretty quietly, in their shadows. ;)

Poor, poor, Kerry. He is sooo young yet and, highly tempermental. Not a good thing, I'm afraid. :(

Maddox did poorly starting out yesterday. That scared me.

Prior, I love to watch pitch. I haven't heard about the 'all year' thing tho. :( I surely hope not.

And, rounding out our starting five is, Zambrano. An intense, involved player who is fun to watch when he's pitching well. :D

I feel like a scorecard! :p

There's something fishy about Oscar, I think.

Maddox will come around...he's still one of the best in either leaugue....

Having a competitive fire like Woods has is not a bad thing...it might ignite a team and take them far....

I don't know much about Zambrano yet....I'll keep my eyye on him....

Clement will give lots of quality starts....

did you catch a foul ball?

frequent bathing kept the Oscar swimming tall and smelling good....
