Ya'll are making me blush...

My commute is from the bedroom to the kitchen! When I did work, I had a one stop light commute...appx 8 minutes. I can OPERATE a computer - I know nothing of the workings of the innards. I'll stick with cooking!

DU - I hope you don't gain weight with this one...

I just stuck brownies in the oven. They are regular fudge brownies (made extra fudgy) with toffee chips on top. When they come out of the oven they are going to be drizzled with dark and white chocolate (my own invention - I hope they turn out okay)

The bacon, chive, mozarella cheese balls are yummy and currently cooling. Once they are shaped, they'll be rolled in crushed pecans.

Time to start my butter pastry crusts for the Spinach Onion Pinenut Tart.....

Then I have to test how long my shells will hold the cheesecake fillings before they get soggy - that gives me a time-frame on assembly day!

Ann, I really think that you should have had a whole team of taste tasters before you settled on your final menu ::yes::

:teeth:

Hey DU,
I went and looked at the cost of my gas:scared1: for the trip...

DP or anyone else driving to anywhere.....here is a great Calculator that will tell you how much your gas will be!

http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1837683

Mine is $357 rt as of today! Still cheaper than flying, and I like driving much better.

You might want to look again, now that gas is over $4. a gal...
My trip will cost about $500.00 RT:faint: ..and thats for a 2008 van, a Chevy, Uplander ("OR SIMILAR")
THATS gonna HURT:headache:

I just got back from my meeting to work as a photographer at Musikfest, John and I hafta talk about this...I can do any day I want and work the festival with a press pass that includes the main act every night!

http://www.musikfest.org/

It's too far to work every day (an hourandahalf drive.) I want to combine some days and make at least one of them a "weekend" with the DH. He works six days a week now so getting him to take off is gonna be a challenge  ;) :)

Right now I'm leaning towards Fri/Sat/Tue/Fri & Sat
Which means: Avril Levigne, Collective Soul, Live, Led Zeppelin, Dennis DeYoung (Styx), Citizen Cope, Roseanne Cash, Lonestar, Diamond Rio and Stone Temple Pilots!

How cool is that

Hi TW! It sounds like it's right up your alley. Since I mainly listen to Christmas music, I would probably go crazy!

Robin & DalPal - anytime ya'll want to come down for a taste-test, you're more than welcome! Betsy - I'm glad you're feeling better.

I'm done cooking for the night....now I have the mess to clean up and my FOURTH load of dishes in the dishwasher. The Parmesan Cheese Puffs are done - they're not as puffy as I expected, but they have an amazing taste and fill easily with the chicken salad. It's a really good combination!

The brownies turned out so much better than expected. They are cut and drizzled with dark & white chocolate. The toffee chips really made a difference!

The spinach, onion & pine nut tart tastes decilious, but they are slighly soggy. Not enough to turn anyone off, but now that it's cut into bite-sized pieces, tomorrow I'll put it in a warm oven and dry it out just a bit. I suspect it's the fresh spinach.

I tested the time-frame for the cookie shell and how long I could have the cheesecake filling in them - they get soft after 8 hours, but by no means soggy. So, I can assemble them at lunch time - strawberries are already cut and drained so they won't "bleed" on the cheesecake.

The miniature dinner rolls are out of the freezer and I've decided against mustard with the ham & swiss. I'm going to make a blend of Boursin cheese, whipped chive & onion cream cheese and regular cream cheese.

Oiy! If I cooked as fast as I type! Sorry if I'm boring ya'll.....but I'm having such a good time!

You are not boring me at all Ann.

It's nice to hear someone so passionate about what they are doing:goodvibes

Colleen, good luck with your job offer.

Betsy, feel better soon. There is laryngitis going around here too.

Oh I forgot to mention that Alex (the dance teacher, not the son) has gotten herself a new puppy. He's a real sweetie, looks a bit like a boxer with the colouring and shape of his body but he is a mixture of pug, boston terrier and I think maybe Jack Russell terrier but I'm not sure on that last one.

Anyways, he's cute, as only puppies and kittens can be.

Ann - Didja ever get your kindle????

Ann - Didja ever get your kindle????

I'm sorry I didn't say anything! I DID get my Kindle and it's amazing! I've got 64 books on it right now and I'm currently reading my 3rd. DH has read one and it was all I could do not to RIP it out of his hands! I think he'll be getting one in a year or so. He's not a gadget guy, but he said it was a real pleasure reading with something so light & easy to see.

Sorry I made you gain weight yesterday DU. Today is assembly day - all the fun stuff! Spinach & Swiss Pastry Puffs are in the oven as we speak!

Robin - the puppy sounds cute. What did she name him? I hope they have a long, happy life together.

Gotta scoot...oven buzzer's ringing!

Hi all! I've been keeping up with all of you, just not much time to post!

Ann ~ Now I am sooo hungry. I absolutely volunteer to be one of the TKer taste testers!:thumbsup2 ::yes:: Can you move to NY and invite me to your parties?

Colleen ~ That music festival sounds wonderful! To be able to work at it doing what you love is incredible!:cool1:

Yippie for Alex's new dog! That woman an use something good (and cuddly) in her life, what a year, or two, she has had!

DU~ DId you ever get your furniture back where it belongs?

Betsy~ Hope you feel better soon!

Hi Brenda! Did you have a good reunion trip? Was everything ok in your neighborhood when you got home? I've been thinking of you!

Hiya PD! I have a quick 5 minute break. How are you doing?

A friend of mine came over with a fountain diet soda....this friend IS my official taste tester and an amazing cook - so I assembeled a taste of everything early. She really loved everything. I was surprised - I was afraid that a few things were just going to be so-so...you never can tell. I liked them, but that isn't necessarily an indicator for everyone else.

The desserts (surprisingly) turned out the best. The brownie bites are very unique and my favorite - they were Charlene's favorite, too!

I am re-heating the spinach pine nut tart bites - to give them a crispier texture...they'll be served room temp. I sent a pic of the plate to Robin and asked if she would post it. Pleeeese Robin?!

After getting a taste of real concert photography at Warped Tour last year I am determined to get my foot into the professional door. I've been an amateur concert photog for many many years. I am soooo looking forward to this~

It's in Bethlehem PA and is a great way to spend a day and then top it off with some great music - if anyone wants to go it's totally worthy~The day is free, the concerts are the only ticket cost.

Thank you my friend

Since Robin isn't on, do you want to email me your pic so I can post it for you?

Yum-mo!
