Good Morning TKers....:sunny:

Its suppose to go up to the 40s today...I know it sounds cold, but its better then the 30s which is what we have been having...

DU,
Good luck with the help coming in...We dont have anything like that....
I DID go look at a small adult living home yesterday...just on the other side of town, maybe 15 mins. away....Only 60 beds.....very nice and homey...and I can come and go as I please, no appts....I was impressed....BUT they dont have an opening as of right now...although they may soon....Its sad that I am waiting for the demise of another person, just so my Mom can get in...
The cost is VERY reasonable too...She could deff. afford it....

Colleen,
I HATED chem...in school...Heck I HATED everything in school, except art....LOL...I even hated Phys. ed., but that was because we had it just before lunch and it was swim.:headache: ..Id have to get my hair all wet, with nothing to dry it with and then go out for lunch in the freezing weather ...it would turn into icicles...Brrrr..:cold:

I saw that SOG will take all vets in Sept. and Jan. even if you only served less than 20 yrs.....as long as you got an HD...Thats Mike....I was wondering if you have ever stayed there??...and is it worth checking into....It doesnt look very Disneyesque...But I heard the local is good...Any thought on that?....Not that we have any plans to go then...but ya never know if the price is right....;)

Its Sunday, so The girls are going to be here soon....We are going to have a game day....Disney Bingo, Disney scene it, and the new game that Julia won on Easter...I think it called Last word..
It should be fun...I am working on new pics in my Picasa...Not quite done yet, but some of the Easter pics are up, and Ill be adding more..If you want to take a look.. go ahead..

My parents can go too, JUST that it has to be a package deal! Mom dont want to be around Dad:headache: And it serves no purpose for me to have one home and not the other.

reminds me I have to call my Godson. Get this ball rollin!:thumbsup2

My friend was buried yesterday in Tennesee. :sad1:
This is what i wrote on the online memorial. The last we spoke was after 9/11, he was in WTC 1 that day.:sad2:

To Spencer’s wife Deborah, his sons Sean, Matthew and his Family, please accept my heartfelt condolences.

Even though much time has unfortunately passed since I last spoke with Spencer, the news of his passing cut as though it was just yesterday we spoke. I have and will always consider him one of my best friends. Like others whom had the pleasure of knowing Spence, I know his humor and humanity will always be a part of me. For this I am a better man.

I will always remember our days at 90 Washington Street, the Card games (“Guts” was always his favorite), the gigantic hoagies he always ate and the “deep thoughts” and many laughs at the Blarney Stone.

My dear friend Forever, Rest in Peace.
Andy

I just made a huge pot of sauce, meatballs & sausage...anyone interested...come on by...Dinner around 3:30!:thumbsup2

The 13.00 a hour ARE the nursing students!!!!!:scared1: I dont need anyone to cook or clean. The most help Mom with the personal grooming, maybe make lunch or something for them(I hate doing that). dispense drugs. If possible take to drs appointments sometimes. Just give me some time off.

I really need someone just on the days I work.....so I can get some sleep...and IDEALLY would be nice on one of my days off...but that will be a GIFT!

Hey UNC would they be helpfull enough so you could relax a little?

Hi PD other than your brief TR will you be posting something?:confused3

..Its sad that I am waiting for the demise of another person, just so my Mom can get in...

Robin,
How are the kittys getting on?....

Betsy, I know what you mean about this with your mom.

We went thru it too with my dad.

When reading the obituaries in the paper we would notice is someone died at the nursing home we were waiting for and wondered if they were on the floors that my dad would need to be on :guilty:

I hope that something opens up soon for your mom. You just might find that she will like it there:confused3

There will be more going on than at home with you and she can get out and socialize ( to the best of her ability) with others her own age.

My dad seems quite content in his new home.

Mischief is still hissing at the baby but she is getting better. She hisses less and gets a bit closer than she used to a couple of days ago.

I'm thinking there still might be some hope there ;)

My parents can go too, JUST that it has to be a package deal! Mom dont want to be around Dad:headache: And it serves no purpose for me to have one home and not the other.

Could you just put them both there together anyway:confused3

Would your mom notice? I don't really know what level she is at with her Alzheimers.

My mom told my dad he that the doctor had called and he needed him to go into the hospital.

My dad went willingingly and happily. But if you so much as mentioned the words "nursing home" around him he would get very angry.

Maybe you could send your parents on a little "vacation":confused3

WELCOME to our new Tk'er's Action Vaugh & Tigger1981....glad to have you!

Good 'happy' Monday morning to the rest of ya!

Betsy - sounds like you had a FUN day yesterday!!!!!

Thank you, but these are just 'training' walks to build up gradual mileage & endurance...the actual 3-day 60-mile walk isn't till Sept 5th...at least the one here in San Fran...i think there are 14 3-day walks scheduled around the country this year...
i am so glad to be a part of this in this small way...i met a pretty young guy yesterday who is walking for his Mom - who passed away from breast cancer not too many years ago....as long as this disease is still out there cutting women's lives short....we need to do what we can...i lost my own aunt about 6 yrs ago....she too was much too young & will never know her own grandchildren....

Wow a 60 mile walk. I haven't kept up to well on the boards. Good for you being so determined to do this. I am sure there are laughs along the way, but many tears as well when you hear the stories. I am always thinking when I see the big NYC walks, that I should take my two girls down there and participate. We are only a couple hours away and it is for such a wonderful cause. It also would teach my kids to participates in what's important.

You have moved me from thinking about it to looking into it. You inspired me!!

Have a great Monday:goodvibes

Good afternoon Tk'ers

Ketchup later!

:cool1:

what an awesome way to spend some some hours or days with your own daughters. I was hoping my daughter would do this one with me....but the timing just wasn't right for her this year. We have done some 'runs' in the past....but there's not a lot of 'talk time' during those :-)
Good luck....

Just came from Moms Lung dr....:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 They seems to be the ONLY think working! 100% oxygen level. Now since Mom cant walk, he recommened a Ortopedic Surgeopn eho can operate on her knees with just a local anethisic.

We see her GP tommorrow!

:headache: :headache: :headache: :headache:
Bless me happy pills!

Hey UNC would they be helpfull enough so you could relax a little?

YES! SOG is absolutely worth the price ::yes::

We stayed in a suite that year...

Mom has stayed in the regular rooms too, she swears by that resort~

:thumbsup2
Could you just put them both there together anyway:confused3

Would your mom notice? I don't really know what level she is at with her Alzheimers.

She would notice. I dont think it would make any difference to him.

Yes & No......
1) MOM dont want DAD there!
2) I know Mom...she wouldn't last 2 minutes in a Nursing home (unless they let her run the joint)
3) her Drs are really discouraging it. Nursing home are just like High School...very clickish! :headache:
4) I also have a sister who depends on me!!!!!!!:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: She dont make enough to live on her own...and I really dont want her to live w/ me (pita). If The parents go to a home, Then i will move....whadda i do with her!:confused3

I got it coming for all sides!

Mustard you wait so long?

:lmao:
