Kim, how far from your place is it to Bolingbrook?

So far that is where we are thinking of spending the night.
It's about 35 miles from me, mostly highway/expressway tho. About 45-60 mins, depending on the time of day.

That's quite a hike, maybe we will be able to meet somewhere in the middle :confused3

As long as it's not too difficult in terms on navigation that might work out okay.

I'm thinking I might leave you know who at the hotel and it can be just the two of us, unless of course we are going for dinner and then he's going to want to eat too.

Men can be funny that way, can't they :confused3 :rotfl2:

Speaking of men and eating, I don't know where our resident eating male has been lately?

I thought so too when I looked, but it's mostly highway/expressway for me, so not that bad really. It's been ages since I've been to Bolingbrook, it might be nice to see how it's changed. ;) Whatever is easier for you tho, you're the one 'visiting'. :moped:

No problem! ;) We can handle Rick if he wants to join us! :rotfl:

Well since I've never been there before I don't know anything about the area. As long as I don't end up driving around in some not so safe area I will be fine.

We'll figure out something that will work. :smooth:

I'm off now. Have a good whatever is left of your Wednesday and on to Thursday :teeth:

Good night Kim, nice talking to you tonight.

Yup, we'll feed him and dump him off somewhere and have some fun. Just kidding of course :teeth:

Seriously, I think if we keep you where you need to be and where you're staying, it's much easier for me to travel to you. ;)

We're both on Thursday now! :lmao:

Nah, we won't dump Rick anywhere! We'll just keep feeding him, so we can talk. :teeth: :chat: It will be my pleasure to meet Rick finally. Only one left to meet then would be Alex. ;)

Get thyself to bed, if you haven't already. :cat:

Here's to 'Friday' - for Colleen & I anyway! :woohoo: :hyper:

Hey, the sun is shining now :sunny: :thumbsup2

Here are a few pictures that I took of the kitchen progress today. The stuff all over the walls is the glue left behind when I took the wainscotting off. I guess we've got to get someone in to repair those walls too.

The fridge is moved to where it will live after the kitchen is finished. The stove will move over closer to the fridge later. The tape you can see on the floors and on the walls is where the new cabinets will be. I know I'm obsessive but I wanted to know what it would be like when it was finished. ;)

AND NOW............. the first threadkiller season/holiday exchange parcel to be received.

These are all of the cool things that I received today from Kim. Thanks so much Kim for all of the nice things. Kim knows ALL of my weaknesses  . On the far right is a bag full of chocolate items. I can almost open my own chocolate shop now ;) I love the egg salt and peppers too. The Thumper plate is so adorable :goodvibes

My turn now to send the package along to the next threadkiller......don't know who that is yet but as soon as I find out I'm going shopping :smooth:

Wow, lots of cool things in your package! ;) I like your egg shaped oven mat thingy... :teeth:

So it's good to see you've started your kitchen. So do you have to gut the kitchen yourself? Or are you just giving them a head start?

I like your fridge. How do you like having the freezer at the bottom? Do you have more space in your freezer?

It would definitely be easier for ME if you came to me, but I didn't want to make you do all of the work.

Yes, I'm definitely on Thursday now :rotfl2:

Have a good Thursday Kim.

Morning Cally, it's supposed to be hot here today too. 72º, which is pretty hot for this time of the year :teeth: I'm looking forward to enjoying a nice warm day.

The egg shaped oven mitt is very cool, I love it too. The kitchen towels with the egg on them are so super soft, wonderful :goodvibes

Now I have to go shopping and find so super cool stuff for my exchange box. :scratchin: I wonder what I can find. :smooth:

We could pay someone to gut the kitchen for us but really it's been quite easy and nonstrenuous so far doing it myself. I have someone coming tonight to give me an estimate to take that box thingy down from over the cabinets and to repair the walls for me. I'm not really into doing drywall repairs ;)

So far the worst part has been emptying those cabinets out :sad2:

I like having the freezer on the bottom because you can see into the fridge easier, no bending. The freezer is nice and large but the only thing we really keep in there are frozen lunch items like hotdogs, Michelina meals etc. We use the big freezer in the garage for all of the other stuff.

There are things about the fridge that I'm not too keen on, like the only place to put large 2litre bottles or milk cartons is in the door but for the most part I do like it.

Morning Wendy, I see that you snuck in here while I was typing my last post :teeth:

You are very welcome for the weather. I'm glad to be rid of it although we are expecting more rain for tomorrow.

You know what they say..April showers bring May flowers :flower2: :umbrella:

I was hoping the rain wold hold off til around 1 or after. DS's school is holding a health fair today(yesturday too) and todays big event was a walk around town with "Slim Goodbody" and some live fruit and veggies. Our store is about 1/2 block from the elementary school so dd and I will head in to town soon so we can watch all the kids walk by and maybe catch a glimpse of Slim. I'll try to remember the camera. I may be the most forgetful person ever.
DD has been a little under the weather. A low grade temp and some awful coughing and messy sneezes. She stayed home from preschool Monday, begged to go Wednesday, and I haven't decided about tomorrow yet. I'd like to keep her home, it's hard because she gets so upset about not going. I may be coming down with something as well. Just a little sick to my stomach and some exteme headaches. Just soon get it and get it over with as next week is vacation!!! :woohoo: Trying desperately to talk DH into taking a day off and take the younger kids to Boston for the day. He's not so keen on the idea. He likes Boston, actually he loves it, but he's funny about every trip we do. The 4-5 days before, it's like he doesn't want to go, the day of, he's a little better, during, he has a great time, and after, he doesn't know why he hesitated.
I think DH and DS are gonna go look at ATVs sometime this week. I'll be a nervous wreck. I hope they put a thing on it so he can only go so fast, can't remember what that is called....govenor or something like that. He'll need helmet too. He's a good kid, in general a real scaredy cat, so I don't worry TOOOOO much.
Take Care everyone, I'll check in again soon. :wave2:

The "kiddie" parade sounds very cool. I'd love to see that. I used to like volunteering at the school when my kids were little. I really enjoyed all of the kids.

I hope you and your baby feel better soon. A little vacation sounds like a good idea.... hey wait.... next week I'm going to Chicago to see Kim :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Well the trip is not really primarily to see Kim at least for my husband but for me that is the ENTIRE purpose of the trip :goodvibes

I'm not a real fan of those ATV's but everyone is different and some people just love them and snowmobiles, which I don't care for either.

Hello everyone  ,

Dh is still not well, but seems to be on the mend... :)

Robin,
One more week! :cool1: ...I bet the time will fly! :hourglass ..
I like the new fridge, and where it is...The kitchens going to look all brand new and nice!....Cant wait to see the finished job!.. :3dglasses

Well I hope you all had a good day...Its wonderfully warm here :thumbsup2 .and Sun, sun, SUN! :sunny:
