Um, took Liz to the dentist, she had 3 fillings done.
The dentist really is fascinated with Liz's tongue rings (she has 2
) It's kind of funny because she got them done in September, (without asking or telling me first of course, but she is 18 I suppose) her dad has not even noticed them yet
While she was at the dentist I did some errands and then picked her back up. We went to the mall and I bought 4 new tops
I don't often buy things for myself but today I guess I was in the right mood.Later this afternoon we are going to officially order our kitchen, check out countertops and colours, that kind of thing. Don't know if we will make the final colour decisions today but they can start on the cabinets at least.
Rick is going to let one of our workers go this afternoon. We all really like this young man and he has worked for us for almost 2 years now. Unfortunately his work is slipping and his wife's attitude is starting to rub off on him and he has to go. His wife flat out said at the Christmas party that HER company could NEVER function without her there
, SHE could ask for and receive ANY salary that she wanted
You know, one of those kinds of people. NObody is irreplaceable, even the boss, sad fact of life but it really is true. This young man took 2 months of paternity leave at the beginning of the year which was fine with us. He told our shop foreman (who is also his uncle) that he took the leave so that we would see how valuable an employee he is
Unfortunately for him, he was hardly missed while he was away. Oops I guess his plan backfired on him...... why in the heck would you tell someone that and especially when you know the person you tell is in a position of authority
Rick said last night that he has had to "fire" hundreds of men in his career and it never gets any easier the more you do it. I don't envy him, that part of his job.

)...although I didnt bring any DGSs today...
)and I went to see what they had and ended up buying a couple of nice hiking shorts with that quick dry material...I really like one of them, but now that I've got them home Im thinking one of them is kind of loud and Im not sure if I like them
....and the best part is I dont think I can take them back

.......
Military or not, some people are just not nice.
I'm so sorry they put you through this. I know you were and would have continued to be an excellent provider for Elijah.
It definately put a smile on my face!

I haven't seen the news yet so we'll see if my weather forecasting is any good.
) Cally. By yourself or the family something nice with it and then just forget about them. They didn't deserve to have you in the first place
