Kitchen remodelling plans:

This is the overall idea of how it will look when it is done, no island in the middle for now. We might do it later if we think we need to.
Robin the plans look good! I would love to have an island like that in our kitchen but our kitchen is way to small. Ugh, it figures I would finally know what kind of kitchen I want after we buy a house.

Can't wait to see the colors and cabinets you choose for the kitchen. :thumbsup2

Crazy? :teeth: I wouldn't call it crazy so much as trying to keep things interesting. :rotfl2:

Oh yeah forgot to add my two cents about your kitchen layout , Robin. I would give anything to have a layout like that, just look at all that drawer and cabinet space!!! :earseek:

Cally, the moment we moved into our new house I had already decided that we needed a completely different layout with twice the space  . Figures doesn't it! Now theres a baby coming :faint:.

Why is the school on strike? Good question, of course they always say that it is not about the money but it always comes down to the money.

I think they are complaining about too many students and not enough teachers, preparation time :confused3 I don't really know because I haven't really been reading up on it.

All I know is that if it carries on for too long it will really effect the students the most. Their school year only goes to the end of April, so they are in real danger of having to push back the school year to finish if the strike goes for any length of time. That will affect their chances and opportunities to get summer jobs in order to pay for next years schooling. The ones who were planning on graduating this spring (Alex being one of them) will possibly run into problems not being available for employers when they want/need them.

Alex has his summer job at the summer camp up north again this year. He had to tell them that he might have to go to school instead to finish his year. The camp talked about not hiring him because of this because of course they need to have all of their plans and employees in place for when the kids arrive in the summer.

The camp director decided to take a chance that Alex will be available and hired him anyways. Hopefully he will be able to keep his job. :sad2:

Oh my that does not sound good! I guess it always has to do with money.

That was nice of the camp director to hire him anyways... I hope it works out for Alex. :wizard:

Stephanie, here is a link to where I posted pictures of the kitchen the way it is now.

Congratulations on the baby. Is it your first?

Cally we've decided to leave the island out for now because we think we have tons of storage space the way it will be. We also don't know if there will be enough space for an island there or not.

Wow thats gonna be quite a change in the kitchen! As for the island you can never have enough storage space and if you have the room go for it! I have an island and love it. Provides so much more workspace. Then again what am I talking about I hardly cook! :rotfl2: I do understand about the space issue, definitely do whatever will be comfortable for you. I'm sure it will be gorgeous in the end.

Yes, this will be my first baby! Due October 30th. I have never been so excited and scared to death in my life :hyper:  .

A new kitchen should definitely give the whole house a different look. We did the upstairs bathroom a few years back too.

Having a new baby is an exciting and scary thing, no matter what number of baby it is.

I'm sure that you will manage to muddle through the way the rest of us have. :p

 Hi newbie!

Hi again threadkillers

New Kitchens, New Babies, Oh My! All great news...I like the layout Robin.

I've been to AC, it's nice to walk the boardwalk & shop. I'm not a gambler...

The Surf expo will be at the convention center, the place is HUGE! The owner, Danny, and I will be going to meet more companies than just Roxy and see all the new clothing and "toys" coming out this year.Santa Cruz, Billabong, Robert August, O'Neill among others will be there...

Kiminy, NO! I want no money for that book. It was given to me...enjoy it.
Do you want it back, for inscription purposes? :confused3 (Very cool, btw ;) :thumbsup2 ) I think I currently have 4 bookmarks in there so far, to show things to my parents, DSIL and cousin. ;) More will be added, I'm sure. :teeth: Thank you again for sending it along. :goodvibes

Robin, great kitchen design! I agree with you for now, about the island. While I think islands are great, I think you might feel confined by that one. :confused3 jmho What about the former eating area/table & chairs? Will that remain there?

 everyone!!! It's already late here! I was out tonight with my cousin, the one who's going with us with her family, and I was out about 4 hours total! :p Lots of WDW talk! :teeth: :woohoo:

Betsy, did you mention Crocs the other day? I got a pair for Kelly, my Mom and myself. It's hard to explain.......it's like walking on nothing, or walking on air or something. They're great! :thumbsup2 It's a shame they're so ugly tho! :lmao: :rotfl2:

I didn't take any notes while reading, so  again EVERYONE! :grouphug: I AM reading and keeping up with you all! :sunny:

I used to supply the masses with yummy treats to fortify us on our quest to kill this thread, which was it's original purpose. ;)

So let's see what I have in my goody bag for everyone. I'm really hungry myself and so I'll choose my favorite hamburger joint, which is a 3 hour flight from me...... IN-N-OUT on the west coast. Best burgers and shakes ever!!
