I'll be-a-lurkin :)

I got my decorations up! :Pinkbounc Although I couldnt put lights up on the house without hubby... so I just put them on the bushes ..
i got that up and decorated too :Pinkbounc I'm so excited... :teeth:

I need to do the mantle but I'll have to wait on that. I need more stuff from the store to do the mantle..

Have fun decorating Colleen.. Hope you feel better :wizard:

Hi Robin, Do you still see an egg? try hitting the refresh button... that's what happened to me..then it started to work :flower:

No I see the foot now, and a very handsome foot it is too ;)

You must be very proud.

Liz just called me from the bus. She says they have been on the bus since about 4:30 (normally a 4 hour trip to home at the longest). They are still quite a long ways from home but she doesn't know exactly where she is. She says the bus is moving at a snails pace and they are all starving and tired and the bus driver doesn't seem to want to stop so they can eat

I think if she doesn't get home soon, she might do physical harm to someone :rotfl2: She is not always the most patient person :earboy2:

I told her, she has not got much choice, she is stuck on the bus till it gets home and hopefully she will arrive here all in one piece ::yes::

after some thought and deliberation.....

I think we should all name one of our feet....

that way....Princessa C! :flower: might be more comfortable discussing her newly hatched foot....

I'm thinking we could do his once we know if her foot is a left or a right....

put your thinking caps on folks

I'm thinking I'll name mine Al-EGGS-ander no matter which side she hatched.....

OMG love the name!!! :rotfl: You're too good!!! :rotfl:

Cally, Al-eggs-ander :rotfl: sounds like a lovely name. Excpet your egg is pink so maybe you could go with Al-eggs-andria?

Liz went to Toronto today on a trip with the nurses from the college. The weather is not all that great, lots of snowsqualls and stuff. I hope they make it back with no trouble.

Heard on the news that there was already one bus crash on the major highway she will be taking. It was a teenage hockey team traveling for a tournament. One in serious condition and 11 other injuries :sad2: It is on the way home side of the highway and the highway is closed.

I hope her bus driver is careful and knows that the highway is closed so they can take a detour and not get stuck there.

She's supposed to call me when she gets back to town, so I can go and pick her up. She wasn't sure when they would be back either. :confused3

I guess I will just have to trust that she will make it back safely.

Is Liz going to school to be an RN or LPN? Is she all ready taking her lab classes?

I think it's a male foot... :confused3

Glad you heard from Liz... hope they get home soon so she can eat :wizard:

Cally it sounds like Liz is still several hours away from home :sad2:

She said there was talk about stopping in a city an hour from home for something to eat. I hope they can. She does have some snacks with her, unless she ate them all on the way there.

I just wish they would get back here in town. It is very slippery here too and I'd be much happier if she were home where I knew where she was. :guilty:

She is studying to be what we call an RPN, which is roughly equivalent to your LPN I believe. She will be able to do most things an RN can do including giving out medication and injections, she won't be allowed to start IV's but she can maintain them once they are started.

Yes she is doing lab classes already.

Tinknutt, are you an RN or a LPN?

An update from Liz.

They are now at the restaurant (truck stop) that I mentioned earlier. That means they still have at least an hour to an hour and a half away from home. They have to wait for some people to eat. There is a buffet there (been there a few times myself) but some people ordered from the menu, so that will take a bit longer.

Liz didn't eat  , says shes gone beyond hungry and isn't hungry anymore. She did grab a snack for the rest of the trip home though.

One bit of good news..... she says that they have a new driver for the rest of the trip. I guess their driver dropped them off to eat and then went and picked up someone to relieve him. Probably a wise idea ::yes::. I'm sure it was a pretty stressful trip.

Now they are pretty much at the edge of the worst weather and the rest of the trip should be not too bad.

I guess I'm up till after midnight, so I can go out in the freezing weather and pick her up. :cold:

Yikes....

It's pretty cold here... i can just imagine over there... :cold:

I was going to go to nursing school but after much consideration I have changed my mind yet again... I'm just going to complete my BA in Info Tech..

Tinknutt, do you have BSN? I have been thinking about becoming an RN for a really really long time now.. I'm just not sure from all the stories I hear... so I think I'm not going to pursue it anymore... who knows.. maybe after I finish my degree in 2yrs I'll change my mind and want to be an RN again :confused3

What is Info Tech? It is not a term that I am familiar with.

The main thing is that you are young. If you don't like what you are doing, you have plenty of time to change it ;)

I was actually thinking in the past few years of nursing myself. I have a good 15 years or so left that I could work.

Except of course, I have my job at our own business, the house to keep and I wouldn't want to do anything that interferes with my vacation schedule ;)

Just kidding, the kids will be gone soon and I will be looking for more to do to fill my time. I have seriously considered getting some sort of skill to keep me busy in my so called "golden" years :earboy2:

I also sent my package out on the same day and so far no one has admitted to receiving it :confused3

When it left here it was NOT snarling, growling or smelling really weird

I have delivery confirmation but so far it says the parcel is still sitting in Canada as of Nov 23. I'm pretty sure that is not the case.

I find delivery confirmation to be a big joke because they dont' scan the thing half the time anyways.
