I used to LOVE Halloween, but now all it means to me is....S-U-G-A-R....and I can't have it! I'm not sure I'm gonna sit this year with a bowl of sugar on my lap. Last year was the very first time we didn't give out candy to the kids. We went to the Outback Steakhouse - the easiest night to get in for dinner!

Ann, you don't have to give out sugar for Halloween.

You can give out something else.

Last year along with the sugar I gave out those glow bracelets. The kids really loved those. You can usually get them cheap and I lit them up and put them on their arms for them.

You can also give out pencils or stickers or any other small non-food treats. I tend to do that more than candy.

One year I had a stack of books that I got cheap and handed those out to the littler ones. I also have handed out McDonald's Happy Meal toys.

Use your imagination, you'd be amazed at what you can find.

Ann, I'm sitting right about 32 pounds lost right now.

I only have 9 more to go to get out of the "overweight" section of the Body Mass Index.

Right now I'm just working on maintaining my weight. In September I will have to get down to trying to lose some more. I know that I can do it. I have the confidence.

I really want to get out of the overweight category ;)

You can do it Robin! You've really been disciplined!....You go, girlfriend!

Okay all, don't let Ann fool you, she loves sports on TV.....I've played softball with her not a pretty sight!

.....Ain't that the truth! I had absolutely NO co-ordination as a kid! Not much as an adult, but I can say (very quietly - cause it's BARELY true) that I'm more athletic as an adult than I ever was as a kid.....

Cheater!! Think of all those poor kids in your neighborhood ( who probably want to TP or egg your house) because no candy from you..... :rotfl: Just kidding. I understand, but I will be giving out the goods just plan to have on my super willpower suit! :cool1:

All excellent ideas Robin, but in my current frame of mind - I'd rather go out for a steak!

Yes, I can be but I've been very slack this summer.

Lots of eating out and fast food stuff.

I still managed to lose 4 pounds over the summer, even with all the badness. I always imagine just what I could have done if I had behaved myself all summer :sad2:

Callie, I like your channel selections too. Love sports, but don't like them on TV, enjoyed watching 1stDS play and enjoyed playing myself though.

Ann you can come over and help me had out stuff.
Cruisin Thanks for the non sweet ideas!!!

Yes you could go out for steak but think about all of the cute little princesses and Spidermen and cowboys that you are missing out on.

I love to see the kids at Halloween.

I know what you mean! Tom said he found the 4 pounds you lost and wants to know if you'd like them back!

It's tough to be a good girl all the time. I like to "indulge", but if I "indulge" often enough - it becomes cheating! Not good for the blood sugar, not good for the thighs!

Susan - when do you go to days? There is a new dance studio that is offering Tuesday evening classes (6:30) in "stretching and strengthening" with a christian influence - interested? It's about 45 a month....right by Publix.

I love to see the kids, decorate the house, dress up and sometimes be scary! And on some occasions have a treat for adults (cold beer) only if they are walking not driving!

Ugh.....Tom said the only princesses he wants knocking on his door can show proper ID! As for spiderman - if he ain't Tobey, I ain't interested.

Nah....that's not really true. The kids ARE cute, but when I think of that wittle cutie steak sitting on that purty plate....*sigh* I get all teary!

Tell Tom, thanks but I'll be glad to let him keep those 4 pounds. Everytime he looks at them, he can think of me :teeth:

I do a stretching and strengthening class this summer. I like most of it but I can't do all of it. I do the parts that I can and just sit out the rest.

How do you put a christian influence into that? The music they use, maybe? :confused3

I say.... you two should go for it ::yes::

Not sure when I go to days...haven't heard anything yet, night manager was supposed to be informed yesterday. When do these classes start? Can you sign up anytime? Remember even on days I will be working till about 7:30pm.

Well, that won't work - they start at 6:30. I'm thinking about signing up. The only thing - I'll miss once a month because of Bunco....

It's a shame you can't make homemade goodies anymore....too risky to allow the kids to indulge.

Tom said, "Thanks for the compliment"

He hasn't been called young in a while!
