Okay, Ann, you be careful. Do you have a bag packed in case you need to get out in a hurry. Although if everybody else has to leave how do you get out quickly I would think it would almost just be safer to find a safe spot at home instead of being stuck in a vehicle trying to get out of the way

Brer_Papa I hope that your son and daughter in law are going to weather the storm okay too. Do they have any specific jobs that they have to perform in a case like this?

I wonder what the atmosphere it like at the resorts right now? What if you are staying in say the POP Century and you have no indoor corridors? You are stuck in your room with no way to get to the food court etc without going out in the storm. Also with all the windows in the average hotel room, it must be kind of scary to be a tourist right now staying near or at WDW!!!

That would be cool. I am not really doing anything this weekend. Son is leaving for canoeing trip, husband is doing remote control airplane flying stuff all weekend, just leaves me and my daughter and she will probably be sleeping or hanging out with friends.

Neat idea, maybe we could arrange that some day

Well we tried calling you to bring us some cool music but you didn't show up so we had to just keep on using the "old" stuff, which is okay cause it is cool music too

We were rather chatty last night weren't we It was so cool to have so many people all "on" at the same time. Probably won't happen again for a long time.

the hurricane team mostly rides the storm out...in the Utilladoor...where could be safer? But...they batten down the hatches....clean up...keep an eye out...be ready to go where needed when needed...

I'd do it....

When I was on the phone...we talked about the guests...if they need to be evacuated...they will be...

if one resort is in more danger...for whatever reason...the guests will be moved...

I brought up the RV-ers and Campers In FW....we had no clue...but...IMHO...that's where I'd rather be...self-contained...generator...mobile...

the Weather Channel is going to do a WDW report...

The Utilladoor is the underground facility at the Magic Kingdom....it's huge!

and if i remember right...12 feet underground...

the Company D is down there....it's where the Cast Members come in and out of work...

the costume and Laundry sections by themselves are massive!


They built it first..then built the Magic Kingdom on top of it....

BP, I didn't know you had a CM DS! That's exciting! Except for today. I took a nap and not only did the storm upgrade to a Category 4, but it took a turn towards Orlando. Your son, daughter-in-law and everyone in Charley's path will be in my prayers.

Cruisin, I don't have a bag packed, but my purse is set with my prescription meds, cellphone, $$$ and car keys incase I need to make a mad dash! If I have to leave in a hurry, I don't care what I wear! I'd LOVE to meet somewhere in the Threadkillers Evacuation Zone. However, I dont' know if I'll have time to let you know I'm headed there! I'll try - get on someone elses computer!

It looks like the storm is going to hit just south of us. We're expected to get a hit from it's mighty swirling arm, but the eye is projected to go over Orlando. This storm is too unpredictable in my opinion - like Floyd. Annie is not happy we all know what happens when Annie is not happy!

I talked to DH (again). He's concerned.....he's a real keeper. I swear, I'd marry him everyday if they'd let me!

Ya'll take care and BP, your family is in my heart. I know they'll stay safe and keep our beloved WDW safe, too.

Ann, I will let you know just as soon as we decide when/if we will be going to WDW. No final decision has been made yet. I'm still hoping I would love to meet up with you and Tom if it will work out for everyone!~!

BP, I suppose that if Disney really needed to/wanted to, they could evacuate a lot of people into their underground network for safety's sake.

Just got back from our brand new WalMart store that just opened last week. They built a new one, more like the US ones and closed our old one. It will take a while to get used to, walking back and forth across an unfamiliar store trying to find everything I am looking for Takes a lot longer this way.

I went and got some Grandkids...we're watching the above....

So far...CM DS & DDIL are doing swell...

Kids huh? I think everyone here is more worried than those 2...

but...he did call his Grandma....which eased her worries...

DANG! that show just talked about the Utilladoor...it was 14 feet...not 12...

I hope HollyAnn is doing OK...seems old Charley meanders around when he wants...where he wants...


maybe he'll spare HollyAnn's turf....

well...I'm going to watch the show...man the phone...keep an eye on stuff...'ll be bopping in and out awhile...
