Hi Wendy and Robin! Hi everyone else too! :)

You are all so good at responding to each other's posts. :)
I feel bad, I can't seem to keep up with what's going on.

We actually do have a Tim Horton's near us, but I didn't know that animation was from Tim Horton's.
I think the one near us is the only one I've ever seen in Florida.

We are early risers in this house.
We usually get up around 4:00 - 4:30, but I've been known to get up as early as 2:30!

That's why you won't see me here with the late night crowd! :)
I usually go to bed around 9:00 and read for an hour or so.

Speaking of sleep, the kids at school wil be waking up from their naps soon! I'm going to fold one last load of laundry and get back over there.

Take care!

There is a Tim Horton's in Florida!!! Really, what part of Florida are you in montessori.

I am not a big fan of Tim Horton's because I don't drink coffee, but my husband does.

If you are ever up that early in the morning (or late at night for some of us ;) ) drop in and see who's hanging around!

4 am:earseek: the only occasion I will get that early in the morning for is leaving on a trip to Florida!!

Yup, that's a lot of water there.

Look at the dog swimming. At least someone is having fun!!

It will take a long while to get that all dried up.

That's my friend's dog (the one who took the pictures) Chloe- she LOVES water- in that picture you see the tree in the water below it is a 4' high fence! leading DOWN to a pond.

Now the pond leads up to DF's walkout basement doors.

and like I said that's not the worst of it, roads and some bridges are caveing in-

Some areas look like a great big sink hole.

Wow, that is pretty deep then.

Look at the bright side.........now your friend can fish without leaving the house ;)

Holy Kay-rap!

Stay safe MaMudDuck! Has the weather improved any? It's rained here almost all day....but nothing happened like that!

oh... Good to see you....great to see you are safe...

Hi Montessori! :wave2:

Early to bed and early to rise huh? Cool....

I do like coffee in the morning :)....

Ahoy Cruisin'! :boat:

sounds like you had a busy day....

and yes...the things we do for our kids... ....but...wouldn't change a thing....

I've heard from more than one people about Tim Horton's....all 100% good stuff....I'll have to try a Tim's next time I head north....

I hope everyone had a good/great day....

I know I did....

I guess I missed y'all last night. :( Boy Wendy, I hope you're staying safe, and DRY! :earseek:

So, what's up around here? Today was my brother's 40th BD, and since he's going thru a divorce (again, from the same witch), my Mom had the family over for dinner and cupcakes and brownies and ice cream. Nice dinner, way over on my points, even tho I limited portions, but all in all, very nice day here. My curtains also finally arrived. They look OK from inside, but from the outside, they look like drapes, rather than tap-top curtains. :( Ah, heck! What do I care what my neighbors see, at least it isn't US anymore! ;) And, I way over-ordered (as well as made a real mistake) so I have half the curtains and an extra box of rods to return. That will really bring down the cost. ::yes:: :teeth:

Yesterday while shopping, I bought some new clothes for work. 3 pairs of pants and 5 tops for $96!!!! :earseek: ::yes:: Pretty good, huh?! :hyper:

Hopefully going to a water park tomorrow with my cousin and her 3 kids, but if it rains, we're heading to an indoor amusement/pizza place for the kids. Either way, the kids should be happy. ;)

Hope all of you are happy, too! :sunny:

:wave2: Kim, yup we missed you last night!

It is good that you are not giving the neighbours a peep show any more.:faint:

So if you take back your excess window treatments, then you have "found" money to spend on something else, hmm, what will you do with it.

I hope it does not rain tomorrow and that you can go to your water park.

My daughter is dancing again this weekend...Friday pm in a near by town and Saturday noon in our own town. Both are outdoor events, so we are hoping for no rain here too!

 to anybody else who is lurking around here:p

Wow Robin, your DD is a very busy dancer around your parts! She must be really good! I don't think it's ever been mentioned, or asked, what kind of dancing does she do?? Around here, a lot of performing dancers do Irish dancing, that's why I ask.

And, since you're hoping for no rain for me, the least I can do, is Wish the same!!! (Altho, it's looking cloudier and cloudier around here for tomorrow) :(

No peep shows going on here, just full-blown, watch me do EVERYTHING in my kitchen! See inside my frig? See what's ON my frig? See me cooking? See me sitting & eating? See me doing dishes? See me .............everything......in my kitchen! :p ;) NO MORE!! :teeth: Thankfully, we know the neighbors directly across the street pretty well! They laugh WITH us! The strangest part is that our kitchen faces the FRONT of the house, whereas most kitchens are in the back. Weird designer.

BTW, thanks for replying! I thought I had killed this thread for sure tonight. (And maybe I still will) :(

P.S. Robin, that 'found' money is already gone! :p :teeth: :sunny: I have no trouble in THAT dept.!!! ::yes::

I was wondering why the number of binoculars up for bid on ebay spiked....now I know!

You got your curtains! Cool!

For the both of you and your plans...I hope the sun shines bright :sunny: and the winds blow warm....

Ahoy Cruisin'! :boat: ...I hope the DD dance reviews rock!

Have a great time.... :jumping1:

Our last house had the kitchen in the front of the house too Kim.
It was different. I didn't mind it like that but this house has the kitchen in the back. I enjoy this because I can see my fish pond and the bird houses and feeders in the back yard, when I work in the kitchen. HAHAHA, and if you knew the real me, you would know that I rarely work in the kitchen. :p I do spend a lot of time looking out the window at the fish pond and the birds though:p

There is a peregrin falcon that sometimes comes and has a bath in my bird bath. Ever cool to see that. I haven't seen it for the last week or so, but then I have been too busy to look out the kitchen window much.Oops I mean to work in the kitchen!!

Kim, my daughter dances mainly in a hip hop style of dance, jazzy upbeat kind of stuff, with some slower more flowing routines thrown in to balance the whole performance. She is in with a group of about 12 girls, but usually only 6 or so show up for performances. They are actually pretty good and they have only been together as a group since the middle of June.

They have a very talented coach who is only 19 years old. She is home for the summer from University and hand picked girls that she wanted for this performance team. This girl also is running her own dance studio for the summer with 108 students enrolled.

:wave2: Brer_Papa, good to see you out tonight.

What's new with you today?

I ran into an old and cherished friend downtown today.....one I adn't seen in a while....too long a while...invited him over after work....

He has a high profile job....one that must be conducted with dignity and professionalism....

if you wish to know his job...PM me...I'd feel more comfortable telling you that way than here....

to protect his identity....I will call him "Cookie"...from the Beetle Bailey comic strip... :) I have my reasons for picking that name....

anyway...a little bit about Cookie....

he's the funniest person I've ever met in my life...

by age 18...he was the best drummer / power drummer in the tri-state area...

he left the area to go to school in Cincinatti from 1969 to 1973...only returning home for the summers....well...he did come home in 1972 for the weekend when we got married...he played dums in the band at our reception...

Cookie is also one of Princess Ariel's favorite people in the world...

we knew early on he was a bit odder than the rest of us....his first car was a 1946 Packard Hearse

OK! I am now opening the vault....

Cookie has a special nickname for me...I like to think it as a symbol of our long friendship...and the mutual respect, admiration and respect we have for each other...

to hear him tell it....every time he heard my name mentioned...and / or my name associated with some prank or shenanigan...

people would say:

I don't know how he did it.....

but Cookie heard:

I don't know....Howie did it....

countless sentences where "how he" were strug together about me...that he figured I was going to get the blame...or take the credit...

so...he has called me Howie forever...

even the kids and Grandkids know he means me when he calls or says "where's Howie"....

anyway....he knocks on the door about 5:30 or so...

we catch up on what's been happening...

DW shows him the crocheting she has ready for the fairs...

we show him photo's of the family....Disney....bring him up to date about Ernie...Grandkids...etcetera..

he sees my one-man-band stuff...asks me what's happening with me musically...

I do a one-man-band gig for a bit...

he suggests I do a burlesqe act....
sheesh...even I know Burlesque isn't going to make a comeback...it's been 60 years already...sheesh...

well...after the one-man-band performance...he brings us up to date n his life...he had been out of town when DFIL passed...which he had mentioned downtown...

anyway...at one point...we were talking about how busy our lives seem to be...when I suggested he take a night and relax...maybe go to Bingo...or something...

well..he is an observant fellow....and he saw the frown on PA...so he turns to me and says.."Howie...what did you do?"

I put on my "innocent and a little bewildered" look...

that did'nt work...

Princess Ariel launched ito the stor of Monday Night Bingo....

want to hear the rest?

.
.
like you had a choice....lol

When have we ever NOT wanted to hear one of your stories Brer_Papa.::yes::

well....for a while....Cookie kept a straight face while Princess Ariel told the bingo story...but e couldn't hold it....he started laughing....

when he got "the look" from PA...he tried to put me back in the doghouse and save himself......he turned to me and said..."Howie, you're an butt"

NOTE: my use of the word "AN" is grammatically correct....you see...he didn't say butt...he said a word that started with a vowel...an a....3 letters...I ASSume that's enough of a hint for you to figure it out....

anyway....PA said "OH Cookie...you're a big an butt as he is"....and she was laughing...i knew we were in the clear....

so..she finishes the story...they were both laughing...and she filled me in on what happened when I hightailed it to the men's room....

after I squeaked out "BINGO" ..pointed at her...and ran...

she stood up...waving a bingo packet at the attendant saying "mistake...mistake"...but it seems the attendant had to check...so she tells the whole bingo hall...

"I'm going to kill him"

well..being bingo novices and guilty of bingo naivete....she/we didn't realize what a blood thirsty bunch bingo players are....

no wonder they kept looking at her!...us!

anyway...all's well that ends well..

so...back to music...I played a couple songs from "Home on the Range.." Cookie loved the yodel song ( he danced like Jed Clampett!)....

said I did Tim McGraws "wherever the trails may lead" nicely...

during the evening I did my altered "Someday Ladies you'll Accompnay Me"...he picked up the chorus and sang along...

afterwards he told me weird al yancovic and cletus jdd better look out...i think that was a compliment...

and then...i told him about my ....missing....fiddle...

well...guess what?...he has one ying around! from when his daughter was young...he's going to bring it over!

well...both of us are observant fellows...we saw DW frown...so...i try to save HIS bacon...

i play the intro to "Leyla"....DW's favorite song...

and he doesn't get the hint...so..i play it again and i "ahem!" at him....

and nothing...so..i play the intro for the 3rd time...I "ahem" and raise 1 eyebrow....at last!
he sings "Leyla"...

I follow up with Stevie Ray's "I'm your little lover boy"....immediately after that one...i hit her with Marshall Tuckers..."can't you see....can't you see...what this woman...is doing to me..."

well...halfway through...she's taking playful swats at me...and laughing her head off...

well...Cookie stayed til about 10 my time....he joined me on some Beatle songs... PA chimed in on some too...

it was a nice eveing...very nice...

I am glad that you and Princess Ariel had a nice evening catching up with your old friend, Brer_Papa.

Sometimes it is nice to go over the good old memories, isn't it.

Do you have a recording of your greatest hits that you send out to all of your fans ;) You could send one to all of us, so that we could hear some of your yodelling, guitar picking, one man band, fiddling favourites ;)

We could start a Brer_Papa Fan Club :teeth:

Hmmm...that made me put my thinking cap on...there were some tapes from the early 70's....

current? I haven't taped anything...

fiddle favorites...i think the fiddle is... "missing"... since I'm just learning it...

 ...fan club...that would be a hoot...we could have meeetings....

you could be my back-up singers..."Brer_Papa & the Puppettes"....

cooo-o-o--l... :cool1:

and yes....a walk down memory lane is fun...especially with someone as close a Cookie....there are many fine memories...

Right after Jim Croce met his demise in a plane accident....Cookie & I..and some otheres went to New Hampshire...we were booked in a motel named "The Happy Landings Motel"....Cookie was certain it was a bad omen....he still whines about it as a matter of fact....

and I still tease him about it :)

Actually, I've had a pretty good week. It went by fast!
I'm still glad it's Friday though!
