Just wanted to check in and see what other WISHers are doing for exercise!

I made it a half-hour on the treadmill yesterday, July 3 - which was a pretty big deal for me. Okay, it's not a marathon, but it's a step in the right direction!

I think posting my activities here will help keep me motivated. Anyone else want to post their exercise each day?

Daisy;)

Hi Daisy! I'll post my exercise here right along side of you!

Yesterday it was in the mid-90's and humid here...it was hateful outside. So, I did not get out for my usual 4 mile walk. I did, however, get my 1/2 hour of Curves in. Usually during the week, I exercise an hour and a half a day, so I didn't get in what I should have yesterday. I am okay with that though because I still got my body moving!

Good for you for doing 1/2 hour on the treadmill! Listen, don't try and minimize (the "it's not a marathon" comment!) your efforts here! It is a BIG deal and you did it!

So, what are we going to do for exercise today? Yes, it's the 4th, but I think we should exercise anyway. You know, we will be eating today, so we should exercise too! I will commit to doing 45 minutes of aerobics.

Linda

Yaaaay, Daisy! 1/2 hour is GREAT!!!!! You are off to a wonderful start, woo-hoo!!!!

Linda, good for you for CURVING!!! I don't blame you for giving your body a break from the heat! :) Yikes, too hot is not good for you, so you were smart to EXERCISE caution, ha ha!

Yesterday I went rollerblading for an hour in the morning, then power walked with DH and my sister last night for 45 minutes.

This morning I am working my chest, triceps and shoulders. I really am NOT a fan of shoulder routines, but I AM a fan of how my shoulders are shaping up. Thanks to a GOOD challenge (and kick in the butt) from ohMom, I am working multiple body parts per day with my weights and that has REALLY made a difference in how my body is shaping up! I even added weights to the dumbells for my shoulders (was just using the naked bar with cuffs before because my shoulders were weak). WOW!

Off to rollerblade (for fun, not exercise today since DH is joining me and the last time he rollerbladed he crashed, yikes!) Have to keep an eye on him. Then we are doing 20 minute pilates tape after we cool down from blading. :) Phew!

Yesterday was my 2nd day for 30 min (10th day in a row on the treadmill). I do NOT want to break my streak today!! It is tempting because everyone is home and we'll be going to a fair and doing a lot of walking later this afternoon. I just know that I will be so disappointed in myself if I don't, even if I could rationalize it. My first day on the treadmill at 10 min was a big deal to me (but thought it wasn't brag worthy). After that first day I didn't have a lot of confidence that I would make it to my 30 min goal as soon as I did. So I think you should be really proud of your accomplishment!!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I had promised the kids (on Tuesday) that I would get in the pool on Wednesday. After dinner, I had to decide....renig on my promise and go to Curves, or honor my promise and stay home and swim. Honoring the promise won out! :) I had already gone to curves Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, so I was ok with it. (I MUCH perfer doing it in the morning anyway!)

I did do some "Curves like" exercises while in the pool. The water resistance helps! And I "swam" a lot more than usual. Usually I just bop around. :)

Today, it's more pool time. Curves is closed until Monday for the holiday.

Me!!:D I walked a mile...in my house. I just finally got around to purchasing a WATP DVD. I love it!!! I bought the 4mile super challenge and I plan on working up to the 4 miles. This morning I did a mile and a half. It's great fun...even if its 100 degrees outside!:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm going to start doing Tai Chi soon. I plan on alternating walking and Tai Chi each day so that I don't get bored.

I did! I did!!

Well, I am counting the 3 hours I spent cleaning the van. I took out the seats, shampood the carpets, windex - armor all - leather cleaners were squirting everywhere! (Can you tell the kids were helping?) It was hot and we were sweating like crazy but the van is ready for the WDW trip now! YEAH!!

And to keep my exercise bases covered, I also did the 3 mile WATP with weights. ;) I still have until next Friday to hit my July goal, so I am working it! :p

I swam for 1 1/2 hours, not my usual excercise, but my legs are sore today:D

yesterday (July 3rd) I jogged 2.5 miles then did a 20 min sculpting yoga video in which my back muscles are feeling today :) I was briefly in the pool in the afternoon and did some scissor type/inner thigh toning moves.

today I did the 3 mile WATP video with weights of course and then did Kathy Smith pilates for the lower body. I did about 10 mins of yoga trying to show my DH some stretches for his pulled hamstrings as well. My dog was driving me nutso just I took him on a one mile walk! Too humid and hot for much else

For the rest of the day I'll probably just be working my biceps with 12 oz weight (Michelob Ultra ;))

Have a wonderful holiday everyone! God Bless the USA!!!

Just got off the treadmill and didn't make my 30 min:( . After 25 min I stopped because I was getting very light headed. Things have been hectic today and I didn't drink my usual glass of water before I got on. I hope this was a good lesson for me. I will do better tommorow!!:Pinkbounc

It sounds like everyone is really working hard! I rode the bike 12 miles at the park (1 1/2 hours) and did the 2 mile WATP in the evening--boy did I sleep well!

I didn't exercise yesterday... or the day before. :(
I should have- but I didn't. It's that TOM and my kids are driving me nuts the past few days- I just didn't feel like it. LOL I feel like I'm expending all my energy trying to keep them entertained and the noise level (arguing, whining, etc.) down all day. LOL So that might be why.

But in any case, the exercising I usually do is on my stationary bike and walking away the pounds tapes. I have pilates too but I haven't worked my way up to that yet. I've tried it twice now and I must be overdoing it because each time I hurt so bad for days that it really stopped me from exercising at all for awhile! So I guess for awhile I'll avoid that and stick with the other exercises that work my muscles but don't make me hurt so bad that I quit exercising at all for awhile. One day I'll be able to do it... seems so easy when doing it then the next day every muscle in my body is killing me! LOL

I am sooo glad you posted this thread!! I really do think this will be motivational for us exercisers!! I think we need a star clippie like the "cheat Free" challenge...but it should say Exercise Challenge!!! We should keep count how many days we work out!! Just a thought!!

I worked out yesterday on the elliptical for 30 mins...then played softball for and hour and a half!!

Today...I played baseball BIG TIME with my son's baseball camp ALL DAY!! IN THE FLA HEAT!! I am patting myself on the back!! we started at 9am...and did not finish until 3:30...we did have a half an hour for lunch!! I worked my butt off...and I learned alot!! I came home (the rest of the family is here having a barbque) and swam for a while. I am pooped and sore!!!

Wow! What an awesome bunch! I'm so excited to see what everyone else likes to do for exercise!!!

Okay, so today is July 5, and yesterday I did...

No exercise :o . Well, I got busy with the holiday, and the next thing I knew it was 10 p.m. and I was falling asleep on the couch. But you know that whole thing about falling off the horse and getting right back on...

I now have a Tae Bo tape that I'm going to try today!

Super-duper congratulations to everyone who did exercise during the holiday! Who stuck it out yesterday and who's planning more for today?

Daisy;)

Well, I'm counting it as exercise....

Yesterday MIL and her dh came over for the holiday. We planned a cruise for Sept 25th (shhhhh!!! the kids have NO idea we are going) MIL and dh decided to tag along. The kids know they are going though!

Well, yesterday we were out by the pool playing cruise music. We have most of the sailaway music from the ship. I played "cruise staff" and showed them all of the movements to the songs!! I probably did about one hour of aerobics total (in two 30 min segments) Of course, if my neighbors were watching they probably think I'm nuts! :)

I'm happy to report that I no longer am huffing and puffing at the end of just one song! :)

So while it wasn't a video tape workout or a treadmill, it was MOST definitely exercise. :)

You can set your clock by my exercise- 5:50 am T-W-H and 6:30am on Saturday and Sunday I walk 4 miles- sometimes on Sunday I'll walk up to 8 miles- just depending on the weather and my energy level. If it rains I go to the Y when my hubby returns from work and do 2 miles on the treadmill then 45 minutes on nautilus. I have consistently done this for 8 weeks now and am really seeing it carve the fat around my body- my goal is to keep this up until I'm down below 150- which may be hard because at my current weight I'll be nearing 150's in February- it's sooo hard to walk at 5:50 during winter because it's dark- but my hubby has to go to work at 7am so it's really the only time because I'm too pooped at night time to walk. So I might have alot of Y nights in the winter but I much prefer to walk outside. ONWARD AND DOWNWARD!!!

I couldn't ride the bike yesterday (someone was using my truck and it's a 20 minute drive to the park) so all I did was the WATP tape--1 mile--twice.

Today already I've ridden the bike 12 miles and I hope to do the WATP-2 mile tape later.

I like this thread--does reading about y'all's exercise count?:p

upper body yesterday, and lower the day before. I am not sure what, if anything I am doing today.
great job all:bounce:

35 minutes on the treadmill. warm up, then speed about 2.5 mph and incline of 4. then cool down.
i love the accountability of this thread :)

60 Minute Richard Simmons Broadway tape (I hate to admit, but I LOVE it!!!)

Going to start walking with friend or two at least once a week starting next week. (weather, please cooperate, children, PLEASE cooperate!)
