Hi everyone!

Wow, is my house clean! I didn't have time to WATP yesterday, so I really made my big housecleaning day count! Abs in, posture good, bend and lift with the legs, all that stuff. My arms are even a little sore today from scrubbing!!!

It's amazing how much activity we can squeeze into a day if we make an effort, even if it's not traditional exercise! Going to the zoo, walking around the local fair (or Disney!:smooth: ), walking the dog or cleaning the house - they all make a difference!!! I think one of the best ways to burn calories is when you don't notice you're doing it :p

And, alas, monsoon season continues here in Maine - but what about other parts of the country? Are you getting active outside? Tell it here! Are you working out inside? Tell it here, too! Whatever you're doing to give yourself the care your body deserves, TELL IT HERE!!! You WISHers keep me going, body and mind! :Pinkbounc

Happy Tuesday, Daisy!

It's amazing what a little focus (and pressure!) can do for us, eh? Glad you got your house all cleaned AND managed to burn loads of calories and work those muscles as you were scrubbing and tidying! I'm blowing some sunshine your way, so hang in there! Hopefully the clouds will part and your lawn will dry out!

Yesterday I did my ab routine (off day for weight training) and did a REALLY slow 5 mile jog. WOW! I felt great, just kept the pace slow enough to not burn out but fast enough to keep me challenged. It was easy to control my breathing, my legs were starting to talk to me a little for the last 5 minutes of my "run", but I did it! I wasn't breaking any speed records, but it was great psychologically to cover that distance. So now I think I might be doing 5 miles twice a week, with the intention of cutting back on the time it takes me to complete the run. Woo-hoo!

I've been peppering a run in here and there over the last few weeks and I can already see and feel a difference in my legs. WOW!

Oh, and we power walked our old route last night. That was great too!

In the morning I spent 3 hours at a Children's museum chasing the kids around.

In the afternoon I hung lots of vinyl shelving in the garage, and one shelf in particular gave me a workout (only about an hours worth!!)

Took a break mid-shelf hanging for a mile bike ride with ds.

And then there was the 2 mi WATP workout.

WHEW!

Hi Daisy! I just love your exercise post, even though I sometime forget to post. I am still keeping with my workout routine even though it has been over 100 degrees all week. On Monday, Wednesday and Friday's I do 45 min. of cardio and then 45 min. of weight training. The only change is I have been going to the gym a little earlier before it gets scorching hot and I am drinking more water. I am looking forward to fall, sure wish it would hurry up and get here. As for doing anything outside, that is impossible, just far too hot. Well I shouldn't say that, the only thing I have been doing outside is swimming, which counts for exercise too!

Have a great day and keep up the great work.

Daisy - we would love to take some of your rain. Although I don't like rainy days because it is then hard for me to exercise, my lawn and garden need any rain really bad!

Since it has been in the mid 80's and sunny here, I have been getting my exercise done outside. Yesterday I power walked for my 30 minute lunch (one of these days someone is going to notice how sweaty I am in the afternoon at work - gross):p . My mom also came over in the evening and we took the kids on a 1.5 mile walk. I pushed my 3 year old in the stroller the whole way. He loves to go fast in the stroller so I would push him while running way ahead of my mom and DD, then I would turn around and run back to them over and over as we went. It was a fun treat for him and a really good workout for me!

Have a great day everyone!

I did my 1/2 hr workout at Curves last night.

I did WATP 4 mile express tape in the morning and in the afternoon did 20 minutes of pilates and my ab routine. In the evening my husband and I pulled our grandsone in his wagon for a leasty 40 minutes so all in all it was a good work out day for me!

I did a 4 mile WalkAerobics workout, and 30 mins pilates. Hey, I was up early :)

I also took six girls to the pool for DDs birthday party - does mental exercise count? ;)

We have some very busy active people here don't we? I also am faithful to my 6 days a week, but don't always get it posted. School starts next wed and I will be incorporating some trips to the Y fitness room and some different weight routines.

Tig - 5 miles! you big show off! Great for you! How are the knees holding out? Maybe we'll jog the 1/2 marathon????

Got a bit in yesterday. I did 20 minutes of Tai Chi (or, more accurately, the warm-up and qigong) in 10 minute sections at work to try and wake up and focus. Helped a little. :)

Then when I got home, I did 30 minutes of the Yoga DVD I've got. Not sure I like that DVD, at least not as much as I like the book I got from the library.

But my legs are telling me about it today. I may end up having to take a day off today because of my legs, but we'll see.

I wasn't really motivated to go to the gym after work but all my stuff was already in the car so I figured I might as well. I worked out for 45 minutes and felt a lot better! :p

I was able to do an endurance run/walk yesterday. I don't get too many chances with DS (3) to care for.

Two hours on the treadmill covering 8.25 miles.

I walked around the state fair for 9 1/2 hours.

Does that count for anything? And I stayed faithful to Atkins. Taco salad for lunch and pork ka-bob for dinner (didn't even take a bite of DS's elephant ear.
