Hey all,

As a result of last week's family drama (check out the PJ), I have no one to escort the Mother of the Bride to her seat. I've been trying to think of some possibilities and DF is disagreeing.

He thinks his father should escort both mothers. I think he'll look like the wedding pimp! :rotfl:What do you all think? How did your mother go down the aisle?

-Meg :cheer2:

At Caryn's wedding both of my parents walked her down the aisle because Mom didn't want to go alone and we didn't have anyone to walk her.

At my wedding Mom walked down with Caryn's husband Mark

My mom is walking down with my step dad - just before my dad and I.

Can your best man or groomsman walk your mom?

My mom walked by herself. We didn't really plan it out and when it was time Tanis just told her to go and she did. I guess that's probably one hazard of having an escape wedding without a rehearsal - a few little details we didn't think about :rotfl: In the end with only 10 guests it probably didn't really matter.

My brother (who is a GM) is escorting my Mom per her request... is there a family member who could escort her or a GM?

If we don't have anyone, then that's what Rob wants to do.

No answer, but HAHA!!

I tell you if we just get him the hat with the feather... :lmao:

The best man is an idea. I just want someone to make sure Lucy (MOB) gets down the aisle. She'll stop and talk to everyone she knows!

this is what we areplanning to do if not my mum to walk with her mum

If we had a grandmother coming that would be a perfect solution! :thumbsup2 Unfortunately Rob's grandmother broke her hip this winter and won't be able to make the trip.

I'm wishing for Escape now with all these details! lol :rotfl:

Hey Sam! My step-brother was going to do it before the family drama. I'm thinking of having Rob's brother, who is the Best Man do it. What do you think?

That is totally fine! I think it will be nice, he will have an added role and I bet he will really be up for such an honor:thumbsup2... oh and I hear ya on the chatty MOB lol! My mom would stop for hugs and chit chat too:lmao:

My brother pulled double duty; he walked my mom in then went around and met up with me to walk me down the aisle. (my dad passed away when I was 8)

We were initially going to have the usher walk my mom in, but he's 6'7" and she's 5'1"--it would've looked a little silly!:rotfl2:

At my brother's wedding, his childhood best friend and GM walked her in before joining the guys. So it's definitely possible!

Hope this helps a little Meg! :goodvibes Everything'll get worked out- you've got plenty of time!

My younger brother walked my mom down but my older brother gave me away. After he gave me to my DH, he slid into the groomsman line and also had double duty.

I have been to weddings where the groom escorted both his mother and then the MOB down the aisle.

I am having both my mom and my dad walk me down the isle. I couldn't imagine not having both of them by my side as I am super close with both of them:hug:

I was told my dad will be escorting her in and then coming back to wait w. me!!

My brother walked my mom down the aisle and Bobby's brother walked his mom down. They were not in the wedding or anything so they weren't in tuxes or anything like that.

My "uncle", a family friend escorted my mother. He was living with cancer, and we were not sure if he was going to be able to do it. She had my cousin as a second choice.

I asked a close family friend walk my mom down the isle. It worked out great.

HA! I asked my Mom the very same question and she was horrified at the thought of walking down the isle. Even thought it's a small escape wedding- I think she is just hoping to slip in and sit down. :rotfl2:

At my wedding my MIL walked down escorted by the BM. Both my parents walked me down the aisle.
We just attended SIL wedding and MIL walked by herself. She's showy like that though so she didn't mind ;)
