Who else still calls it MGM?

If you're wondering its Walt Disney Studios... and they changed "DLRP" to just "DLP" officially :rotfl:

I haven't been; I'm just up-to-date xD

Thanks! I thought I had read something about it.
At the 20th, this happened:
"Imagineer Bob Weis quickly commented, “And this is my favorite view of the Chinese Theater. You can’t get this view anymore. You may be aware of that. But I hope that we will get this view again some time soon.”" from an article at travelears.
Haha it's so confusing!
I remember when it was DLP then DLRP now it's back to DLP again? lol
That's what it's called.. I did know I just couldn't think lol.. they keep changing the name of everything there..

Yeah on screamscape they posted this:
(4/18/09) To me… EuroDisney has always been Disneyland Paris. The EuroDisney name stunk… and I can’t tell you when they decided to add the word Resort into the name, but those days are over again it seems. Locals sources tell me that the “Disneyland Resort Paris” is no more as the new CEO has announced to CM’s earlier this week that the resort is now officially to be called simply, “Disneyland Paris” once again.

:rotfl:
no idea why they keep changing the names.

Could be similar to Epcot. That had a strange period of name changing, from Epcot Center, to Epcot '94, to Epcot '95, to Epcot...

Yeah, that's the most bizarre name change history I think... It's weird that they went to year specifics, especially.

I mix between the two. I usually call it MGM though.

I still call the Seas with Nemo & Friends the Living Seas though. I guess it's because the SWN&F is a mouthful.
I just call it The Seas.
The original "set-up" of WDW was pretty much going to be EPCOT as an actual city and then a Disneyland east.
It was going to be just Disney World. ("Walt" was added by Roy O. after Walt died).

Considering how awful the theme issues at DHS, the MK, and EPCOT are, a name change to lose another company's name in a Disney theme park title is not really a problem for me.

I wish Walt had lived to see EPCOT as an actual city, not the watered down theme problematic park it is today. Walt could have changed the world even more if his vision had worked out.

added: And DHS is only, like 20 years old this year, and isn't even a working studio anymore. At one point in time, there were actual animators in the Animation section. Too bad.
EPCOT never would've worked the way Walt wanted it to. There's just aren't enough 'perfect people' to fill up a 'perfect city' and have it all live in harmony.

If you do not like the theming of the Disney parks, then why do you go, and why are you on a board dedicated to them?

It's true EPCOT wouldn't have worked, but I still wish he could've tried.

And I love the theming of the Disney parks, I want to be an Imagineer. I enjoy them, and I don't think I need to defend the reason I'm on a Disney board.

I love Disney to an obsessive point, I've read over 12 books just on the parks and Walt Disney.

By theme issues, I'm not talking about the actual themes have problems, I'm talking about shows and attractions that have nothing to do with the original theme of the land or park.

Maybe I hold WDW at too high of standards, but after seeing what Imagineers can really do by studying Tokyo DisneySea, I'm severely disappointed in the state WDW is in right now.

I'm sorry if my opinions offend you or make you mad, but I know what Disney's capable of, and they should hold themselves to those high standards.

I definitely do!! :) I can't stand that they changed it!! It really makes me mad too!! They've changed so much from the original "set-up" of WDW.

In 2007, I was staying at my cousin's house in Seminole County. One of the days I was there, we went to EPCOT. The studios was still called MGM. 2 days later, my dad's reading the newspaper, and the headline was that the name was changed. Define weird.

I do.
My mom has to correct me because people won't understand what i'm talking about.

I do. Its always going to be MGM to me and my family.

i do :goodvibes

it will take years for it to stop being MGM to me lol

For me and my family it is forever MGM. Sometimes though, If I remember, I'll call it DHS.
