Who else saw the Awesome NYE fireworks from SSR?

I am writing a report, but the AWESOME fireworks display from DTD on NYE's deserves its own thread!

We were in studio 2543 (first floor) at SSR and had the greatest view of the best fireworks I have EVER seen! We sat on our patio with our champagne and milkshakes for the boys and I was afraid a spent shell would fall on us!

We did see the Illuminations Grand Finale and thought that was the best, until we saw the DTD fireworks. That was pure pyro at it's best! LOL no choreography, no music just one awesome display after another.

I doubt if anyone at SSR was asleep after that! It was LOUD! The birds were quickly migrating out of the area. PI sold out at $84 plus tax per ticket and it was nice that although we were "home" on NYE's, we could sit out on our patio and feel a part of the festivities.

I'm glad to hear the fireworks were good. We're thinking of seeing the FW next year, and wanted to see DD's.

We saw the nightly fireworks that happens at DTD and if you blink you will miss them, but NYE was a good 10 minutes if not more. We could see the EPCOT fireworks over the trees, and they ended before DTD's fireworks did.
Once they started, I realized I should take pictures, but I was glued to my seat! So no photos. Im sure some other more prepared disser will share theirs, I hope!

I can't see DVC not making that DTD view a category especially for NYE. I saw several couples dressed up and walking over to PI for the festivities. Families filled their balconies and patios and waterfront for the fireworks. It was truly magical to be at SSR for the very first NYE!

I also should add, that all the parks had special NYE events and after spending the morning in MGM and seeing how crowded it was getting when we left around 2 pm, we decided not to go back and just hang out on our patio. We were so glad we made that choice.

P.S. There was also many Fireworks cruises on the lake. I didnt even know that was available for NYE. There were at least 10 boats that took people out for the fireworks. I will definitely need to look into this.
