I need a little moral support. Our house has been on the market 2 weeks. I'm already getting frustrated. I know it's early and there is a war going on but hey cleaning is a drag!

We had an open house on Sunday. Our realtor said there were 10 groups that came through and 3 looked promising. I can only hope.......

So who else is trying to sell?

And who is trying to buy?

On the buying end, everything in our price change, thus far, is yucky! This is our 3rd house and everytime we just needed $20G more for the perfect house.! Oy!

Hey this is my 1500th post!

We just signed our contract to sell our house near Orlando. My Mom and stepdad live in it now. They keep it immaculate, so I'm not worried about it showing well.

Our realtor said it's a seller's market right now (at least in Orlando area) -- lots of people wanting to buy, but not a lot of houses for sale. So, we're hoping it won't take too long.

Good luck!

Sorry, no advice on buying or selling. We are building our first house though. It is a very exciting yet stressful process. I just look towards the future and imagine myself in the home I want, and everything seems to slide into place for awhile.....until the reality of carpet pad thickness, and GFI protected outlet locations, and......comes back to mind!!!!!! ;)

I had the exterior of my house painted yesterday and need to clean out some junk (bookcases, etc) to my storgage until to make it less cluttered.

Other than that, I hope to have it on the market in April. I have never sold a house before and want to try it by owner for a few weeks before getting a realtor involved, if possible.

Good luck!

We just sold and bought a house this past month!! So I understand what you are going through!!!!
We were very lucky our house was on the market two days and we sold it!! (Secoind people to see it!!)
But finding a house on the other hand was the stressful part!! Everything is So darn expensive!!!How do all these people afford these expensive prices?????
We did end up finding a nice home but I still think it is overpriced!
The only advice I have for selling would be things you probably already know-Clean out closets, clean EVERYTHING!!! I mean inspect your house because the people buying sure will ;) :D
Also clear away clutter and burn a nice candle or potpori is allways good (we used apple cinnamon)
Good luck to you!!

We probably will be putting our house on the market around June or so. Our house (we're building -- in Broadview Hts., BTW) is scheduled to close around Sept./Oct., so we're trying to time it well. Hopefully, it'll sell fast, but not so fast that we have to store everything and ( ) live with my MIL!

Oops -- forgot to add: Good luck! :)

Our house has been on the market for a month now, so I also know your stress.
Just yesterday we put an offer on a home not contingent on ours selling, so now we have the double stress of possibly two mortgage payments if ours doesn't sell in another month! Uggg!!! Good luck to everyone buying and selling. I can't wait for it to all be over and done!!

Our house has been on the market for 6 months and it's on a private lake, so no one will go out that way until nice weather stays. we got transfered to Ohio from Indiana. and i really miss my home but we have free rent until our house sells and then i can buy i new home!!! wish us luck.
And i wish everyone luck on theirs!

We sold and bought about six months ago. We got a contract on our house three months to the day from our list date. That's really pretty quick, but it seemed like forever! I am a pretty good housekeeper, but the idea that I HAD to keep it perfect at all times drove me nuts. I know some people don't keep their house neat and tidy while it's on the market (you wouldn't believe some that we looked at! ) but I could not stand the thought of letting people come through my house when it was less than perfect.

Buying was more stressful, as there was so little on the market at the time. We found a house we loved and the price was OK. We signed a contract that was contingent on the inspection. That's where things fell apart. The inspection turned up MAJOR termite damage and active termites. The owner refused to make repairs or even adjust his price so we could handle it. So we had to walk away.:(
We ended up with probably the last house on the market in our price range, but we got a really good deal. Did some remodeling and will do more.

Is this more than you wanted to know? Hope I didn't add to your anxiety! I just ramble sometimes...
Good luck on your sale!

We had been looking to purchase a new home, something with a first floor bedroom, & we started doing major cleaning out of closets (it's amazing what we've accumulated in 6 short years here). Then we had a Realtor come in to give us a market analysis & when he saw the hospital bed we have in the formal diningroom (my mom has cancer), he told us that our home would be a tough sell due to that bed being there. Not only that but people would really be offering rock bottom bids thinking that we are desparate to sell. :( I can't do anything about the bed, so we gave up looking & gave up having hopes to sell for now.

It was stressful though thinking that we might face a double move (into an apartment before getting into a new home) or double house payments (which is out of the question.)

So....I understand the stress & I wish you the best!

We are also dealing with this stress! Today is the 1st day it's on the market, it better be, our realtor said yesterday but didn't get a sign out. We have already found a house but they rejected our bid b/c of the contingency on the contract b/c we need to sell our house 1st before we can buy another. THe timing thing is already stressing me out- I hope we don't have to double move! Me being so pregnant doesn't help much. I hate this!

we have been looking for our first house since early Nov..last week we finally put a bid in on one we had seen 3x..but got outbid by someone paying cash (we are paying cash also..but they just plain outbid us!)....Sunday we went to look at one that was on the market for only 2 days..and we both loved it..went straight back to the real estate office and put in a bid..less than 24 hrs later (yesterday) we got the call that they accepted the bid..and the house is ours..closing date is May 2!..lots of cleaning and packing to do..but we are sooooooo excited!..we must have looked at 100 houses..some were on the market for almost a year..others for only a week..hard to tell what will sell when..good luck to all you sellers!!
