We don't do Valentine's Day at our house. So I'm skipping it this year right along with ya!
Anyway, when I'm not in a relationship, I think of Valentine's Day as something Hallmark & chocolate companies made up just to sell cards & chocolate.
But when I'm in a relationship, you darn well better believe I expect one of those Hallmark cards!

Have my 2 DS w/ me
and DH is leaving for WDW as we speak.
Granted it's for a conference, but it's still Disney.Tink's Pixieduster said:Actualy there is something worse than spending Valentine's Day alone; spending it with someone who doesn't care and never will.
After a marriage that ended badly in 1990, I raised my two sons (who will always be my sweethearts no matter how grown up they are) alone. I still get that alone feeling sometimes, but then I remember I don't have to answer to anyone either. After the abuse I suffered in a bad marriage, I can honestly say there are worse things than being alone on Valentine's Day or any other day. And now that they're grown, for the past 3 years my sons have given me roses on Valentine's Day. So I'm alone, but I know I'm loved.![]()

This is my first V-day as a married man and my wife has a rehearsal this evening. So, therefore I'll be spending it with my other "girlfriend," Breaker, my Black Lab.joshsmom said:GREAT post!! I have a similar story--except I only have one DS10. My marriage was awful--thank God DS was only 18 months when I left my marriage. You're so right. . . .there are worse things and I need to be thankful for what I do have: a beautiful 10 year old, my own house (my castle), my physical and emotional health. Staying with him, I would have had none of these things. Thanks for the post and making me realize what I DO have to be thankful for!!![]()

Tink's Pixieduster said:You're so very welcome, joshsmom. Sometimes it helps to put things in perspective. When I read your earlier post it sure sounded like you are experiencing what I have already been through so I was hoping you would read my post. I'm sure that when he gets a little older he will appreciate all the things you've done to raise him into a loving and responsible man. Have a wonderful day with the (young) man that means the most to you!!!![]()
