It's back to school on Monday! I'm not complaining; I'm really enjoying school. But it's going to be rough getting back into the swing after 2 1/2 weeks off. Anyone else?

Two DSs and Dh went back to school yesterday and I was singing everything BUT the blues :p :p :p

I'm singing right along with you. I have to go back on Wednesday. Hopefully this semester will be easier than last. Just hard working and doing school.

One kid goes back on Monday, the other and I have another week. :)
No blues though. :)

My classes don't start back till the 13th- I've had a whole month off! I don't like school, but I'm getting rather bored at home, and I'm eager to get the semester going so I can graduate in May. :)

My kids go back Monday also. Boy, it will be hard getting up.:( We've been sleeping in waaaayyy to late!!!! ;)

I jsut put my son on a plane back to Pittsburgh PA for his final term. I cried all the way home.

Me and the hub tonight, just the two of us in a blizzard. I should be thankful but I'm still sad.

Thanks for the post, thought it was only me.

small whine....I am a college professor coming off a semester sabbatical to set up my NEW lab (hadn't ever had a REAL one even though they expect me to do real research!)......won the university teaching award in Spring, 2002 (I have a whole slew of them-if they only translated into raises!). Then had a student threaten me in my office (just this student and me) by telling me to give a grade or she would get me....she did. Sued me for sexual harrassment, yes, that's right "sexual harrassment". I was accussed of abusing her via grades because of a "relationship" with her. I am a HAPPILY married women with 4 kids. Always been very liberal, very open. This turned me into a conservative! Took me 6 months and $3000 in attorneys fees to show that her claim was groundless (interesting with sexual harrassment, they assume you are guilty until proven innocent)......then a sabbatical with my wonderful graduate students setting up the lab. Monday is back to teaching those LARGE lecture sections and dealing with the general student population again. Am deathly afraid of dealing with students again. NEVER want to be in an accused position again. For the first time in 20 years- I just want to QUIT. I am hoping that once I get on a role it will be okay....but right now I just want to be at WDW and NOT infront of a lecturn. Need LOTS of pixie dust to get back on that proverbial horse! I KNOW that she was an anomaly, but I REALLY REALLY don't want to teach again. PLEASE dust me with some pixie dust!

Here is some PD for you Val--it's hard enough to get back into the teaching swing of things without that experience behind you!
I went back to teaching yesterday--only a few local schools opened up. My kids go back Monday. However, today I had a snow day! So my students were off for 1 1/2 weeks, back for a day, now a 3 day weekend. next week we start prepping for semester exams.

PD for you Val. I'm also a college prof. and can totally sympathize. Although I'm not quite singing the blues yet ... I've still got two more weeks of winter break!

Me! I go back Tuesday...but somehow I have to get all of my work that I have been neglecting for two weeks done for all my classes before then. :(

Ditto Wendy!! Carpool Blues is more like it! :(

Wow Val, that's awful. I really think in cases like these that the falsely accused should be compensated somehow for having those attorney expenses. It's a crime, really it is. :( **Pixie Dust** sent!

Val I hope you never have to deal with that again. Things will get better! Soon you will be so busy you won't have time to think about it!;)

We teachers go back Monday and the kids come back on Tuesday. It's going to be hard getting up!

I can't imagine being off a month. I've been bored a week now. You're set to graduate in May? Congrats, Angie!! :teeth:

Congratulations on the award(s)! Wow! What an ordeal with that student! Plenty of PIXIE DUST is coming by for you. Hmmm...do I really want to be a teacher? I've done some volunteer work at DS's school this year in the Reading Lab. The teacher told me that if there's not another adult in the room...leave the door open! It's sad things have come to this.
