Who else is scared EVERY TIME by Dinosaur?!!!

I'm 31 and I LOVE this ride. It's one of my favorites, but it scares the poop right outta me!!

The second time we rode it, we took my 50+ mom and DS6 with us. The picture is hilarious. My mom is on the side where the large dinosaur is and she's screaming and leaning way over into my lap, I'm screaming and trying to reach over and either slap my son or cover his ears, my son is completely terrified with eyes wide as saucers and his mouth open in full scream, and my husband has this weird sour squinty look like the dinosaur just spit on him.

There was also a grown man screaming in the seat behind us, and two OLD ladies in the last seat who sat as stone-faced as you can be just looking at the dinosaur like they were totally unimpressed, LOL!!!

That pic is priceless. I have to go on it every trip, but this last time I had my eyes closed the entire time.

I love Dinosaur and yes it scares the wits out of me every time. Yet I still ride it. The last time we rode it with my parents and my dad just had to get the picture. He is waving at the dinosaur and laughing, I am holding on for dear life and screaming, my sister is hiding her eyes and my mom is sitting there looking indifferent. It is hilarious.

I saw this thread and thought - "omg that's EXACTLY me"! I've tried it at least 5 times, and every single time I'm too scared to even open my eyes. I still find it terrifying without my vision. I'll try it again this trip.. I know, I know;)

I love that ride in AK--and scream as the flash comes on. I think it's one of my favorite rides because my younger sister screams her head off on it--and I have the picture from (oh my!) seven years ago with her squeezing my ever loving arm off and screaming. I'll miss her not going with me this trip. My youngest sister takes after my dad on this ride where they are nonchalant about the whole thing--that really takes the fun out of the ride for me ;)

I *LOVE* this thread!!

Now my memory isnt the best but the last time I was at WDW was about 18yrs ago -- there was no AK but I remember a dinosaur ride. It started off like a movie almost, the seating was many rows both deep and wide. Then it moved and the wall broke open and we went through it (still in the seats..) and we went along a track and dinosaurs were all over the place.

I think it was at Epcot.

I was all excited to go on Dinosaur thinking it was the same thing different park but this one sounds much scarier -- even better!! :thumbsup2

Love love LOVE that picture that was posted -- everyone looks absolutely TERRIFIED!

Universe of Energy.

It is still there, but is now called "Ellen's Energy Adventure."
It still has the movies and the Dinosaurs.
It is hosted by Ellen Degeneres, and also stars Bill Nye, the Science Guy (and a few other surprise guests.)

Well, glad to see others are scared, LOL:rotfl: My 2 sons 18 and 13 now, hate it :confused3 and my husband and I love it! My sons refused to get on it after the first 2 trips to DW and hubby and I had to ride without them. Then last year we talked them into trying it again and yep they still couldn't handle it!:scared1: We go in 2 weeks and already talking about going on it again and they are still out as of now :confused3 go figure.

Another one here that gets scared every time! I don't know if I have even seen the T-Rex! My eyes are always closed.:rotfl2:

I'm 25 years old, I've been on every ride in Disney without a problem...EXCEPT dinosaur! IT SCARES THE :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: OUT OF ME EVERY TIME! I know when it happens, where it happens and I even get myself looking in the direction ready for when it does, but however much I prepare myself I still scream like a little child every single time lol and yes, I'm very ashamed lol

Please tell me other people have this too (people over 10 if at all possible)

Oooo Haunted Mansion is another EVERY SINGLE TIME!!!

My wife...everytime!:scared1: I try not to laugh but everytime when we look at the photo they take she is one of the ones with her head down in her hands. It's just the big T-rex's at the end of the ride.

I doubt my wife has either?
As soon as we get to them she is scared!:confused3 :lmao:

Love, love, love Dinosaur--one of my favorite rides at Disney! I'm not scared by the dinosaur, but I have fun going through it with the kids and pretending to be frightened with them. We have a lot of fun!

Sorry, but I am sitting here :rotfl: :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2: I have spit on my screen twice reading this thread:upsidedow

I love, love, love  this ride.

TOT- never, ever, never again! :scared1:

The first time I went on it I :rotfl: the whole ride. After we had our picture taken the people in the front row turned around and gave me a :sad2: look. Now DS who was 13 at the time was more like :scared1: :scared: :scared1: too funny!!

Last time I went it was just DH and mysekf. I made him RUN to Dino, we were the 2nd couple on the ride. :yay: We rode the first time, I jumped off and ran back to ride again. Turned around and DH wasn't there:rolleyes1 ?? He pulled up the rear but could not believe he took so long getting back into really a nonexitance line!! After we rode it twice he wanted EE, I told him to go ahead and I would catch up that I wanted to take a few pictures. Then I rode it again without him:idea: :upsidedow

Haha i dont know what it is about this ride but it scares me sooooo bad, but yet after the ride is done im like lets do it again!! haha

This will be the one ride im always afraid of no matter how many times you ride it..

I think its the fact that you feel the dinosaurs are soo close to you and its in the dark and the other thing thta freaks me out is that the one side of the time rover doesnt have a door that closes haha but maybe thats just me : )

ME!!!!!! Every time the T-Rex emerges, I try to look AWAY but I always end up turning TOWARD the direction the T-Rex is. Seriously, every picture of me on that ride shows my face buried in my husband's shoulder!!! I'm 31 for cripes sake!!!!

Ohh my godd. i get scared EVERYTIME! i hate that ride.. well at least that one part.. but haunted mansion.. the only part that gets me is the very beginning. i was in disneyland with my older cousin (23) and we were going on the haunted manison together, she was eating some sort of cracker things? but anyways, in that streching room, the lady that was working that night came up right next to us when the lights go out and you see the guy hanging above you, and scare the crap out of us. i haven't been on that ride since...

OK... I'll admit, the first few times I was scared... really scared.

But the first two times we went on it during the last vacation in early January 2009... the ride STOPPED MID-WAY!!! The few lights that existed went off and the sound of the dinosaurs remained...

This is what our car "sounded" like in the dark.

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:
:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Yeah, when the lights go off and you know you are in the same room with those big scary moving meaty dino-wowzas... it gets certifiably frightening.

I turned to Greg and screamed with authenticity... "OMG... you've gotta get me outta here!"

Now, we managed to then go on this ride about 20 times during our last trip. We figured out that (during our trip) at the end of the day at AK, it would get really sparse. So we would hop on over and ride Dinosaur a few times in a row before close. So, we pretty much ham it up for the picture now... no longer the same experience now that we know what is expected to pop out. Still, it is my very favorite ride in the park!
