Ugh! It hit me this past weekend that the holidays are here. The best way to handle them is to ignore them. Nearly impossible thanks to everyone else in the world.

I'd like to hibernate and wake up on January 2. Anyone else want to join? :scared1: :scared: :headache: :worried:  :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking: :drinking:

I'll join ya.

At the risk of being flamed big time, I really dislike the holidays.

I am thankful for the great things in my life every single day, so I don't need one certain day for it.

Christmas is so commercial and sort of depresses me, so I'm not really into it either.

I wish I was on a cruise or something from November through January.

I'd love to hibernate, especially if it began now. Then, not only could I skip the holidays, I could skip final exams, final papers, and presentations.
The holidays are just too hectic. And my dad will be 3000 miles away for them this year (business trip). So it'll just be wierd, on top of the usual crazieness that I hate.

I'm so not into Christmas this year. I don't know if it's because I'll be missing my Dad or what.

I'll be glad when it's all over.

We'll trade places then....I'll hibernate on Jan 2 and you can wake up then. This time of the year is awesome, the holidays are for seeing relatives, giving thanks, etc. I love it all.

See you on 1/2.

I worked at Hallmark in my late teens/early 20s. Since then, I have had a deep rooted aversion to Xmas, its obviously psychological. ;)

Add to that that I am not a christian and I have to wonder why I bother. Well, if I did not have children I wouldn't and I would join you and sleep til January. No wait, its still too nice outside down here. I would go sit on the beach and drink Kungalooshes til January. :drinking1

I'm right there with ya. If it weren't for DD, I'd be hibernating all winter and forgetting the holidays.

I'm right with you girlfriend! I too hate the holidays ~ especially since my Mom passed away. Nothing is the same anymore, but I have to put on a happy face for my kids. Of course, my DH takes us to WDW for Christmas, this way I'm not "here." Makes it a little easier.

hi
i'd love to hibernate. it is freezing here in the u.k literally!...and i am coming to wdw on jan3rd. :cold: :cold: :cold:

I love the Holidays! :teeth: I'm ready to hibernate because of the cold!!! :cold:

I would like to join in the hibernation too. I like the music & decorations....but I can do without the crap from relatives -- well just some of them. LOL

Luckily, we don't have to buy presents for others anymore. Both families have stopped that.

See ya 1/2/06.

Oh wait --- someone please wake me for a week in December. We are going to WDW.

I could have written this! DH's family has called us "selfish" since we have alluded to the fact that in the future we are staying home for Christmas with our own little family - mainly to avoid all the discussion (a.k.a. fighting). Next year we are going to my grandparents' house in FL, and WDW for New Years - mainly to avoid them all! :teeth:

We are also headed to the World soon - I'll wake up for that part!

I was feeling the same way until this weekend. I was completely burned out! So two friends and I took off for the weekend to decompress. I feel like taking on the world now! We have decided this will be an annual event for us because we all came home so refreshed and relaxed. :cool1:

Maybe you could hibernate for a weekend? :goodvibes
