Who else is hoping for FD in March 2013?

So it looks like I will have to go to WDW in March instead of October of this year, and I am so disappointed but happy to go at all. I see Free Dining was offered in March 2012, so I am keeping fingers crossed it will happen again! Who else is waiting with me??

I am waiting with you! I am planning my trip with the goal of taking advantage of some discount (FD is preferred but if a room discount works out to be better that is fine). I haven't settled on which week in March but I am leaning towards the first week.

1st week of march here... keeping fingers crossed. Nothing seems to be going on that week :)
that I know of lol

I'm going March 26-30th. Hoping for a free food plan, I think. I'm guessing this is the best price option vs. a room discount? When do you think the free food offer might be out, if it's available? I'm guessing I should make a ressie with AAA discount now, then hopefully get a dining plan discount later? I haven't really thought about it yet. Only thing is, I may make ressies at Dolphin, and have to change to a moderate Disney resort to get the dining plan. At more than $400/night, the deluxes are out of my price range.

We are also hoping for FD in March, 2013! We weren't sure when to go - Nov '12, Mar '13, or June '13, but I think it's going to be 2nd week of March, 2013.

We had a new baby this year and weren't up for any kind of trip, but wish we would have since the kids' school schedule had a spring break the 1st wk of March 2012 which would have still been regular season! Bummer that they switched to the 2nd wk of March for next year.

Really wish they would post the room rates for 2013 - I could have sworn I saw a chart of them somewhere, but cannot find it again. I know I can call the Disney #, but I would rather play with the numbers myself on a spreadsheet to figure out the best place to stay - considering POR, WL, or possibly AoA.

We were at Disney those exact dates this year and FD was offered;however Easter is on March 31 next year so that will decrease the chances of FD or any high value promos. That is why I backed my dates up for next year to the first week of March or maybe the last week of Feb. The closer you are to Easter, the less promos available plus higher crowds.

ETA: you probably saw this in other threads but package pricing will be available on July 11. You can also look at mousesavers to get historical discounts for March but make sure you see when Easter was each of those years and you will see how much effect the holiday has had on discounts in the past.

We are going end of Feb or beginning of March and hoping for free dining or room discount. We have had free dining the last 2 years at the beginning of March.

How's the weather and crowds the first week of March? I'm thinking about possibly changing my orginal dates to this time hoping for FD. I was originally wanting to go end of April or beginning of May because I wanted DD to be able to swim and possibly go the the waterparks.

We have been the first week of March several times now. It is usually chilly in the mornings if you're making rope drop (upper 50s-anywhere in the 60s) and is randomly anywhere from 70s-90s during the day. There are days when I say no swimming, then the next day it will be scorching so we can swim. I get cold really easily so I don't like the chilly mornings, but I think the temps are usually ideal during the day--sometimes too hot, but not usually. You can wear shorts/summer weather clothes, but we make sure to have light jackets for morning and late shows.

As far as crowds go, it is great the first week of March! We use touring smarts (TGM, touringplans, what have you). At RD we are usually one of only a handful at Ep for some reason, which I love! We are always the only ones riding Nemo, and only a handful of people will be at the aquarium. MK always seems busy to me no matter what, and DHS & AK are on the low end of moderate crowds IMO. I think crowds are rated 4-5 out of 10 at that time. Once you get to the end of the second week of March, it gets packed. We have noticed we are safe the first week & a half.

I'm in for a few days after our 4-day Disney Cruise! March 7-11th...hoping for some kind of discounts...Thinking of booking a room only at AoA LM room. However, from everything I am reading, it looks like AoA LM is excluded from the discounts this year, unless I get a pin code. I have been regularly getting pincodes for the past few years. But of course when I actually need one, they are no where to be found!

I'm with you! Very much hoping for FD in March! We're going before our Dis Cruise ont he 14th! Really hoping for FD at AOA! Fingers crossed.

We are! We are going March 11-15 so we are hoping for some sort of deal.
If not then we will reevaluate

Right here as well!!! We are going March 8-16...Trying to decide if we will stay at AOA LM rooms or just upgrade to POR Royal Rooms. I am seeing the LM rooms are not available for FD this go around, so maybe we will just do POR and hope for the best.

Keeping an eye out for Free Dining announcements...
I noticed in the Mousesavers Historical Discount page that it was early-mid-late August that the Jan-March Free Dining was announced the last 2 years, so keeping our fingers crossed!

We booked for POR March 8-15th, though we only have our air TO Florida not back yet - SW and AirTran aren't posting their schedules for past March 8th until Sept. 10th (unfortunately that's one day past our 180 day mark, but we'll hope for a good late non-stop flight home).
