Who else is excited to try the new "Nick" Hotel

Wow, you don't think it will be done anytime soon? I booked for the second week in May and the pool is the main reason why we are going. Now I am getting nervous. My DD will be so bummed if she doesn't get to go in the pool thats in the picture. :sad2:

I just stayed there last week for a few days. Boy, if that new pool is going to be ready by May they need to get going! It is no way NEAR being finished. Construction is everywhere. It wasn't so much a hastle for us as we stayed in the completed section by the finished pool. I felt sorry for anyone staying in the uncompeted section - they had quite a walk to/from the pool.
The pools are nice, but I just can't see spending $195+/nt. in the future. Even though the free breakfast isn't anything special - it is FREE and my kids especially fill up and its a nice way to begin the day. The free breakfast is a big draw for me. Don't bother with dinner there - the food is not good at all.
The staff was very nice and polite and the room was clean.

Thadlo- If you don't mind me asking what section did you stay in? And how is the other pool? Now I am thinking of cancelling and staying on property, and upgrading to a moderate? UGH! I thought I was all done with my planning :headache:

celtick, PM me your email and I'll send you some pics of the pool area that's complete. the check-in/mall area area that's supposed to open in march is barely drywalled. I'm looking forward to it's completion, but there is no way I'd drop 200 for a night as it is. the main pool area is sand and plumbing fixtures right now. the bucket and the rest of the waterpark is sitting in a parking lot.

celtick, we stayed in the west side (the side with the completed pool). The new pool is great. The actual pool is between 3' 6" and 4' 6" I think. There are 2 slides that empty into that pool and 1 that ends on its own - not in the pool (for smaller kids). There are also some sprays and water features for the kids. My biggest concern is it is confusing which slide goes into the pool and which doesn't. My 6 yr. old accidentally went down the wrong one - and he doesn't swim.
There is a small sand area and also a separate spray area with water slide for smaller kids.

Thanks all for the info. I am going to request the west side and keep my fingers crossed that most renovations will be done. My daughter will be happy with one pool but I am hoping. And when I made the ressie they said it will be 90% finished. I guess I will have to wait and see. Thanks again.

We went to the HIFS in 2000 and loved it...(we loved the free breakfast too!)...I am not a fan of Spongebob so I am not that interested in going back but I must admit that the pools look cool. We had a kidsuite for 4 adults and 1 child. My husband and I shared the living room fold out couch and it was plenty big for us. The trundle bed is quite small and really only big enough for a child or VERY small adult. The hotel according to there website was to discontinue the free breakfast on Dec.31/04.

Going back in 7 months for first On-Site stay at the Pop!!!!

:cheer2:
