Who else is BUMMED BB is closing again so soon????

The skyliner closure in January was announced several months ago. I knew about it and I haven't been to WDW since 2019. Sorry you didn't know in advance, but it was listed on the Riviera's WDW website page.
You are correct. I missed that. More investigation on my part was necessary. WDW obviously did their part prior per your note. Our home is GF so no issue in the future. Thanks for clarifying so all readers know this was indeed pre-announced.

I have only done BB since the pandemic. I already did 2 BB visits in November and this February so the waterpark add on to AP is paid for. I spilled blood trying to do the mat slide. So basically only do lazy river and wave pool. I personally like TL better so looking for to visiting in May. If there’s a lifeguard shortage, definitely can see why not opening both waterparks since they have to staff lifeguards at all the hotel pools too.

I hope they use the downtime to fix whatever they did to Teamboat Springs. During the last closure they replaced most, if not all, of the flume. We’ve been to BB half a dozen times since reopening (most recently early Jan) and each time they were limiting riders per raft and seemingly only letting one raft go per entire ride length, which made the line absurdly slow. Not sure what all has been going on there and maybe it has already been resolved, but it didn’t seem sustainable at all for busier times if it’s still happening.

But yes, put me in the bummed camp. We like both parks, but BB is our fav.

Hum I wonder what was going on there? Maybe the camera that shows when the person at the top can release the next raft? I have never seen a sign like that before that's for sure!

I was really hoping both would be open. We got the park hopper plus for our trip this summer.

I mean, are we SURE both won't be open for summer? The BB refurb doesn't have an end date. They could open it by summer.

I noticed the same thing a few months ago (although I did not see a sign out). The park was empty, every slide was a walk on except Teamboat Springs which had a 45 minute posted wait time even though with normal operations it looked like it would usually be around 15 minutes.

Am I the only one who's come to this thread that has absolutely no idea what BB is?

We are also very disappointed. We've never been, and just went to TL in August so we don't feel a need to go back there. The kids were really looking forward to checking it out. I had paid extra for the Waterparks and more option on our tickets, and now we won't be able to use it (again, no interest in going back to TL, and I can't deal with mini golf lol). I called and got passed to Ticketing escalation department, and found out they would have been able to refund me the ticket difference and downgrade the tickets (after warning me that normally they don't do this), but my tickets were purchased through a 3rd party so they can't do that. All they could do is apply the cost to adding another park day, but we don't need that. Grateful that they were going to try to help but unfortunately doesn't do us any good. :( Maybe this information will help others in the same boat!

Pure conjecture here, but I would not be at all surprised if they completely rethemed BB to Frozen and called it something like Frozen Falls. I mean, why have a popular IP and not beat it into the ground?

There aren't enough lifeguards to keep them both opened. They are actively trying to hire and even had a lifeguard job fair.

If anyone is interested, the Beachcomber Shacks are now available to book online.

It appears there are not enough lifeguards to have both open at the same time. Until they can hire enough I foresee only one WP being open at a time.
Yeah it would still only be one. Keep BB through spring and then TL
For summer . BB had barely been open for many really good hot water park days
