septbride2002 said:You wound me!!! Meanwhile I'm sitting here in the ugliest socks you have ever seen in your life - but they are WARM!!! I vow to go on a shopping spree in April. My DH thinks I have a shoe obsession I told him that I will have reached the obsession point when I own a pair of Manolo's and can't wear them with anything![]()
To keep the thread somewhat on topic - DH and I have seen the show and think it is just another perfect of over indulgence by the baby boomer generation to bratty children who grow up feeling they are entitled to everything.

wearing the black, white, green, and blue socks that my DH got me for Christmas.
Alright Miss Amanda ... the feet stayed toasty for now but my legs got a little cold, so now my manolo-clad feet are sticking out from under the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles fleece throw blanket my little brother got me for Christmas. It's a bit dissonant looking down, but I'm sure with those stunning socks, you relate!
Not sure on my take on the baby boomer generation but I do know that there are a heck of a lot of new cars on the road these days - I can see where kids look around and are surprised when Mom/Dad say NO to them
), but I would much rather see them earn these things for themselves. It's a hard lesson as a mom to teach, because you want the best for them, but it will make them better adults in the end.
Gee, I'm 50 and I remember quite vividly what it is like to be teenager. (we're all 17 on the inside) Guess dementia has quite set in yet..........
I'm sickly sucked into it. And just my 2 cents about banning shows, my parents told my sister and I no MTV and no Beverly Hills, 90210... I know that the second we were home by ourselves guess what the first thing we put on was!!! I think it's a good idea to keep an eye on what your children are watching, but that has to be backed up by good morals and values too. I suppose being able to block channels makes monitoring things a whole new ball game though.....
