This year's Christmas was really wonderful!

1. My parents are moving to our town just a few blocks away from our house.
Tuesday my dad calls me and says, "Please find us a house." He and Mom have been trying to sell their house for a very long time. It's a custom contemporary in the land of Acadian homes. They came to my house on Wednesday looked at a few houses, found one, and made an offer. The guy has until Monday to respond but Dad said he's willing to pay the asking price if the owner insists so it looks like they'll get it.

2. Our 3 kids- 35, 26, and 16 loved their gifts and we all had fun together.
My husband liked his gift too!

3. DH shopped for me by himself and picked out a really pretty necklace and ring for me.

Last night at MIL's house we had a very nice visit with she and his brothers and sister.

Life is grand and tomorrow is our 29th wedding anniversary!!!

I did!!!!! We stayed home and got take out from Denny's. DS LOVED his gifts and we stayed in our jammies all day long!!!!! :cool1:

I had a great holiday as well. Got up late, managed to get in both a run and a walk with the dog. Had my son, dad and brother over for dinner. That was probably the best part. I took a chance and ordered the Wegmans turkey dinner. Was very yummy and easy.

We had a nice day, both yeterday and on Christmas Ev. No fights, no drama...

i did. everyone was able to be here, the gift giving went well, and the food was good. after other family obligations, my grown children came to our house and played dominoes. it was wonderful! just like when they were kids.

and to top it off, we had snow! we haven't had snow in my area in nc on Christmas since 1947. my first white Christmas. my mom came over to stay so she won't be alone in the snow. our power tends to go off in any kind of bad weather.

it was a great Christmas for me and dh.

oh, and i got a Kindle!!!

Christmas was very nice. We spent part of the day at my son's house and my daughter's house and had dinner in each place. Next year we should all be together again, but since our DD just had a new baby a few days ago, we ended visiting two different homes. We enjoyed being with our kids and the grands and had a pleasant happy day even though it was a bit hectic, but then, that's just part of what makes the day special. I received some beautiful gifts and love the thoughtfulness of DH and our family, but the best gift was just being able to spend time with our family and enjoy being together.

I did, I did!

We hosted Christmas at our house today instead of MIL's. They came at 12pm and left at 2:30 (snow storm). 5 inches of snow made for NC's first white Christmas since 1947! So after MIL left it was DH and I enjoying peace and quiet and each other all day!

I've had a wonderful Christmas, so far! Christmas Eve DH, DD, and I went to mass and then we came home and ate lobster and finished baking and watched The Homecoming (with the Waltons). Christmas Day we opened presents, ate gingerbread waffles, and headed over to my Moms to hang with her and two of my brothers where we had a nice visit and ate a delicious dinner. Today we head over to my BILs to celebrate with DHs family. I always worry about whether DD16 has a nice day (it's hard being the only one in her age group) but she told me what a nice time she had at Nana's and how much she enjoyed sitting at the table together and sharing a meal. I am blessed to have a teenager who enjoys being with the adults. Christmas, for me, is really about pleasing her. :santa:
