Who else goes to the same restaurants year after year by default?

Up until 2010 I tended to visit once a decade (so happy that has changed!) but for me there is something comforting about visiting the same restaurants from years past, bringing back memories both sweet and bittersweet.
That said, June trip has only 2 ressies of places I have been before: Luau and LTT (wish it was the LTT Character Breakfast we got to enjoy last year while CP was under construction -- boy, was it great :goodvibes).

We have been to 'Ohana every trip since 2004. It is a special place for my family and the pictures document our milestones...new babies, anniversaries, new jobs, an adoption, trips with friends, trips with extended family. The kids are growing up right before our eyes in those pictures.

We had been going to Chef Mickey's every trip but left it out during this last one. Both kids missed it and have already requested it for our 2012 trip. I've started wondering how we are going to fit in all the places I'd like to try when 2 of our 4 TS are already decided! :confused3

We have some that we seem to go back to each year, but we also try to mix in some new spots as well. Only places I won't ever go back to are the CS spots at DHS.

I feel the same about OHANA for dinner...Lipoa is our Disney Character of choice! Last year we did it first and last night (that was a bit overkill) and I don't care whether there is food or not! Good times, and great memories!

I am guilty of this.. and like others in this thread I consider myself an adventurous eater as well. I always end up kind of disappointed in myself that I didn't try more new things after a trip.
I think in our case it has a lot to do with being a family of four with radically different tastes. When I'm making ADR's I tend to stick to the ones I know we love or like so that nobody else is disappointed.

This trip I have vowed to try Nine Dragons because I've always wanted to. If everyone else doesn't like it .. oh well.. they can eat a funnel cake after or something.. it's vacation:rotfl:

Same with Biergarten.. there has to be something for everyone there. It's not like I'm shoving raw fish down their throats.. they'll just have to give it a go.

We try to do a mixture of both old and new. We seem to do California Grill, CRT, Chef Mickeys and Boma each trip. Then from there we add in a few new ones. This time we are trying Le Chef de France, House of Blues and Rose and Crown. We are also doing T-Rex again but only for the second time. As much as I really like it, I was hoping to replace Boma with Tutto Italia or Kouzzina. But this is dd8's number one choice so back we go. I'm not dissapointed, just would like to try something new.

We have several "old faithfuls" but we usually make our restaurant selections according to who is with us. We have gone to Chef Mickey's without children, but I know if our DGS is with us we will definately go. However, we always try at least one place new on every trip. Just last month we discovered the Captain's Grille and we still wondering why we had never tried it before.

I can relate! I find it hard to balance going back to favorites with trying new places. I try to do about half and half but usually the scales tip toward the old favorites. So many places to eat, so little time!

We were talking about this yesterday while we were adding a few adr's for our upcoming trip. For us our absolute must do is Tusker House. We also tend to usually eat at Le Cellier, The Plaza and Mama Melrose on most trips. This time we are trying two new restaurants - Garden Grill and The Wave.
