:confused3Ok, not to sound crazy or anything, but just wanted to know if anyone else does this. When I plan a trip to Disney, usually a couple of months before we go, I usually start running everyday to build up my stamina up to walk in the parks all day, and it works because I can take the heat and walk the parks all day without a problem, Anybody else do this:lmao:

COOL, I thought I was crazy for doing it, I wont need to do it next year, lost a ton of weight and hit the gym four to five days a week

:thumbsup2 we do we put the kids in disney training. they walk a little more each day. We also do Leslie Sansone walk at home dvds too

I've gotten in good shape since my last disney tip in '07 so I'm very excited to go this summer, I'm going to be ready to go! I'll need to start running more soon that way I won't get as tired when I'm walking. So, no you're not the only one!

I already work out in the morning and walk in the evening everyday except Sunday. It is something you should do all year long, not just because of a trip to disney:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 yes..yes... we do it too. I already run/workout 6 nights a week for about 1 hour. But, I have myself and my husband on a new schedule where we've increased our running miles and workouts to several hours each night.... WHY?... so we can eat our way through Disney :cool1:

Man, I was proud of myself just for starting to walk more and having my son do it too. I've never ran though, probably haven't done that in 15 years, now I feel kinda bad about myself. :sad1:

I start parking farther out months in advance and try to make sure the kids are working up to the trip too.

we got a treadmill before last year's trip, just for that reason (stamina in parks)! I know a vacation isn't the only reason to work out and keep healthy, but it sure was a good way to get started and motivated! have been using it ever since. :thumbsup2

now I can walk for a distance, but need to lose weight...:headache:

I hope you read that fact that I said I DO workout 4 to 5 nights a week, and I will not have to this year for the simple fact that this has become routine

:thumbsup2Another reason I will up my workouts next year around vacation time:rotfl:

Too funny! My hubby "trains" for Disney as well! Now that we are stroller-free for our older one and hoping to get the little one out of the stroller soon too, I guess they will have to start training also!

I heard that WDW is really hilly? Is this true? We went about 5 years ago, for a short time, and I dont remember it being like that, but someone told me it was.

The only thing "hilly" that I can think of are the ramps going up to the monorail. Those can wear you out. There is a small hill by England in Epcot but I wouldn't call anything else hilly.

I exercise too, but not just to have more stamina for walking at WDW. That's just a side benefit.

I need to do this with my kiddos this time. We're going the week after Christmas and trying to not use a stroller!

We started our walking routine 6 months before our last trip in Sept 08.My 4 yr old did so well and was able to keep up and did not need a stroller at all...

I did read that, and that is great! Good for you and keep up the good work.:goodvibes
