Who else does NOT do autograph books?

Our family doesn't do autograph books. We think it is more fun to have interaction with the characters. On our recent trip, it seemed like we are in the minority. One of our twins really enjoyed the characters - especially hugging them. Just wondering who else chooses not to do autograph books.

When DD was little we did the autograph thing. Then from about the age of 4 she was just not interested! She is 8 now and on our last trip she wanted to get some autographs. We just used it at the character meals we went to, then she just lost interest again. I think she just liked the princess autograph book to use herself!!LOL We won't be getting any this coming trip. The kids like to have their picture taken with the characters and hug them. We go every year so how many times do they need Mickey's autograph!!LOL

We don't. In my opinion it takes up too much time when there are loads of people who would just like a hug and photo and autograph hunters are just barging past. This was our experience in DLP anyway.

My kids aren't interested, either. I do think it'd be cool to maybe someday take along a hat or shirt to have a favorite character or two autograph, but they don't seem to have any interest at all in collecting autographs in general.

In fact, on this last trip neither of them was even interested in meeting any of the characters, even when the lines were extremely short. They just had too many other things they wanted to do. I was really surprised by that, honestly, since last year they did seem to enjoy all of the times they met and interacted with the characters.

We never had before. But before our last trip this past summer I was shopping at the Disney Store and they had some on clearance. So I bought them thinking the kids could bring them and use them if they wanted or just draw in them or we would just glue pictures in them when we got home. Well my 5 year old son LOVED getting their autographs. It was his highlight of the trip. I think he felt like they were actually there just to see him. He looks at it all the time still. So I would probably do it again next time because they enjoyed it so much!

We don't either. My boys rather interact with characters. They rarely want to wait on line for them. I'm glad!!!!
(We collect pressed pennies instead....and that we do everywhere not just disney)

We don't do much character interaction at all and we haven't done autograph books yet. My DS#1 (6) is mildly autistic and often terrified of costumed characters. We tend to keep a little bit of distance. We may try to do a book for DS#2 (4) this year because he loves the characters (especially the girls )

This year my kids will be 13, 11 & 11...they will not do autograph books. I'm going to have to beg & plead with them to just take pics with the characters. As they get older they aer less and less wiliing to the "fun" things...or at least the things I think are fun!

My daughter,12 yo,has told me no more autographs! She has agreed to photos though!

We don't do autographs. Mainly because the first time we went to Disney, years ago, we had no idea what autographs were or that you could even do them....until we kept getting stuck in line behind whole groups of people with autograph books. After watching everyone in the group get the same signature for the tenth time, we were sure we didn't want to do it.
We interact (the kids are getting more comfortable doing this) and take pictures. It's fun (and a little sad!) to see them with the characters each year, getting older.

I really didn't think it took up that much more time then taking a photo...especially when people take more then one with each character. We got most of our autographs at the character meals we went to. We only got a few after waiting in line to see them. They also signed them pretty fast. It wasn't like they were personalizing them. I mean how long does it take to scribble the name Goofy and such. We just always had the book already open to the page and the big pen in hand so it went quick. I know my 5 year old loved it....so I would do it again if he or any other of my children wanted to.

We do the autographs every other time we go. I do have to say that not rushing like maniacs with a pen and a book makes the trip a lot more relaxing. My daughter did not even miss it this last time. This could be true too though because we go in July when it is scalding hot and not standing on a line frying does have its appeal for the entire family..

No autograph books for us either! Our kids love interacting with the characters and getting their pictures taken. Even Mom and Dad enjoy it with certain characters.

The autograph books are too time consuming and distracting. If you want the autographs, book a Disney Cruise and have Guest Service arrange to have something autographed with all of the characters!

I did.But I like getting my picture taken with them now,it's too much of a hassle with the autgrpah book,but I still bring it becuase it's fun!My family doenst like it though,when I was younger I always wanted the haracter's autograph's.lol

We did them in Dec 05 for our kids first trip. They could have cared less and just wanted hugs, to interact, and PICTURES! We didn't even try to get any autographs on our trip in September. It was so much easier, the kids had a lot more time to play with the characters, and DH and I loved not having to carry the stuff all around the parks!

We will probably take ball caps or a blank pillowcase with a sharpie for the next trip. I think that would be much more fun than an autograph book. the kids would just get their favorite's to sign those.

this is one thing my daughter says... she can't wait to get them to sign her book.. and she talks about how the princesses kissed her book... it meant a lot to her! And yes.. we do it every time.. sometimes twice a year... when she gets tired of it.. we will stop.. but hey.. I even did this on my honeymoon.. so .. I don't think well stop!

We did it when dd was 3 and it was kind of a pain. This past trip, we didn't do them and it was so great. She didn't even want to do many pics (much to my sadness) because she said the lines were too long. So wise at 4 years old. Unless it's something that dd wants to do next time, we'll probably skip the autographs.
