Who does the Beer Mug deal, and is it worth it?

Hi there...
My guy loves a beer, and I am wondering if the Beer Mug deal is a good one.

I've done that deal twice. It is a good deal, however, how will he feel having to carry the mug with him most of the time? That was the only downside to the deal. It is a large mug (unless they've changed) and it was a bit awkward carrying the thing around the ship.

I’ve done it twice before also. I don’t drink much beer, but I wanted the mugs. I have an “EPSN Sky Box” one and a “DCL one”. You don't have to worry about keeping it clean because the bartender will just swap yours for a clean one each time you get a refill.

And… they fit perfect and look good on the corner display shelf in your stateroom bathroom.

Thank you for asking this question. My DH was also wondering if it was "worth it". His big question is...what kind of beer do they have on draft? Any imports or is it all Bud & Bud Lite and what not?

He is kind of a beer snob, so I guess that's what would be the deal breaker for him.

I think the deal is still the same, $9.95 for the mug, and then you get 22 oz. of draft beer for the 16oz. price. I did the math a couple of years ago, and at those prices (I think it was $4 for import, $3.25 for domestic), the break-even point was something like 10 domestic beers or 8 imports. For me, that is definitely doable on a 7-day cruise, but like others have said, lugging the thing around got to be a pain, so we have opted out of this on our recent cruises.

The mugs are a bit of a pain but if you're a beer drinker, worth it.
The do have Heineken, not sure of any other imports.

Hey LLoyd....I think I "broke even" before the lifeboat drill.....LOL It is 3.25 + tip for the mug refill. I usually bring some cans on board a keep in the stateroom. Dinners and certain bars my miller lite wasn't available on tap....I've got 5 mugs from our 5 sailings.........
