DH got bad gas at the station yesterday. To make a long story short, it looked like foamy chocolate milk!!
He spent 2 hours inside with the assistant manager. She was calling the corporate offices to find out what to do, etc. (I'm wondering why the employees aren't trained to deal with situations like this, but anyway...)
They said they would pay. At first the corporate office didn't even want the station to shut down, but the assistant manager shut the pumps off anyway as others were going to get bad gas too (some already had) but this morning we saw they are not pumping regular or mid-grade either one as there were signs on all the pumps. So they definitely DO have a BIG problem!!
DH had his truck towed down the street to the Chevrolet dealership where they were going to pump the tank out. DH asked them if they shouldn't just flush the tank, rather than pumping it out...but was told "it would be fine."
Well, today they are flushing the tank as pumping it ruined the pump!! Now, just WHO should pay for THAT??!!
We're confident BP will pay the bill for flushing the tank, but are THEY responsible for the pump too, or should the dealership pay since DH asked them about it and they went ahead and did it anyway?
DH doesn't feel HE should have to pay for ANYTHING (he even kept the receipt for the gas for the loaner, to turn it in to BP) but we're not sure WHO should be responsible for the pump.
