We booked last year with CAA. We had a few problems with the TA and would like to book with someone else since when the codes came out the CAA discount didn't apply anyways.

Hi Reese;

Try this thread:

The sponsor of these boards is DU and I have used the Canadian agent at DCTV for my past 2 trips and I'm very happy with her service.

Be aware that only a CAA agency can book you a CAA discounted package that includes dining!

I have never used a TA for any bookings to Disney. I usually stay off site, so using a TA like CAA wouldn't really work, since most of their promotions you must stay onsite to get the bonus.
I have found that by booking everything by myself, I have saved lots of money, but again, I stay off site. If I stayed onsite, maybe it would be worth it. I just find that I generally know more than the travel agents I have dealt with (it's not that I know everything, it's just the TA's I generally have ever tried to deal with knew nothing about what I was talking about). In the end, I guess I just trust the people on this board as well as my own personal experience travelling down to WDW when booking a trip.

Thanks for your responses. When booking through Dreams Unlimited how did you pay? The one thing I did like about CAA was I could just take cash down to the office and pay that way.

I always book all my trips with my travel agent here in town ( it helps that she is also a family friend). I make one trip in to see her and she books everything I want exactly how and when I want it; this way I don't have to worry about problems when my Cirque de Soleil tickets, park tickets etc. come. She is wonderful.

ME!!!! Because I am a TA! :thumbsup2

I go to the suppliers, see who has the best offer and do it!

All the other TA's in the office ask me when they have a customer that wants Disney or even themselves....go figure....

I always stay and always recommend onsite rather than offsite and timing is everything for the deals and promotions! Love the new one for Aug-Sept with free dining and as my daughter is working at WDW this summer may use it myself!

I always phone down directly to CRO at Disney - 1-800-828-0228. I use my CAA discount for room-only, since Disney hasn't had a General Code for room-only in a while. You can also use this number to call back for ADRs, if you don't make them at the time of booking your resort.

I prefer to arrange for Disney transportation from/to the airport by calling direct to DME - 1-866-599-0951.

I booked direct thru Disney as well. Because we used Airmiles for the flight, we booked well in advance ( 6 mos). I then booked the package thru Disney. As long as it was paid off 45? days prior to travel you could pay as you want. We paid as the dollar went up :) . During that time Disney offered PH & WP incl at no cost, so we called up and changed pkg and saved $600.00. That was a big help. I found no real savings using any other method and I looked alot! pirate:

I booked everything myself for our last trip. On our previous trip a friend who is a Travel Agent booked for us. I've also found that the package deals out there aren't necessarily cheaper than booking everything separately. You just have to keep an eye out for the discounts and book at the right times for when you want to go.

I've used DU when we booked and cancelled our cruise:sad1: . They had great discounted cruises with DCL that I just couldn't find anywhere else. They did an excellent job and quickly cancelled my cruise when I notified them.

As for the Disney vacations, I love doing it all myself. I am a planning freak so I enjoy looking up resorts, making ADr's and buying plane tickets.

First year we went I booked through Disney and what a nightmare :scared1:
Disney booked my package 4 times on my visa and it was 3 weeks before x-mas and they used all my limit up. It was a nightmare and I couldn't use my card for 1 month. Disney never helped me and kept blaming the bank and not them. Thankfully a great lady who is head of customer service finally was great, (first 2 customer service people wouldn't help me)and got everything figured out. I even had a 3 way conversation with Disney, my bank and me. So my first experience booking with Disney was just awful. Since then I have booked through CAA and have had no problems. We never use the CAA specials with the drink areas and coupons but at least they haven't screwed up my visa for a month.
