Who do we call to find out about seating?

I'd like to make a reservation for Palo for one night, but don't want to miss any of the rotations. (4 nights). I've seen some people here already know what their rotation is. How do I find out? And, can we request a table for just the three of us through whatever number I call? Thanks.

The only people on DCL that can actually pick their rotation and have it guaranteed are those booked in suites. Anything else is just a request, and will be treated as such. Those on the REAS package, can request a rotation, and usually have it granted. I say usually, because we had the REAS package booked, and weren't granted ANY of our dining requests, table for 4 and rotation. You can request these things, but you won't know anything prior to boarding, as DCL usually doesn't assign these things until a couple days prior to boarding. You can only call the dining cordinater if you're booked in a suite or have the REAS package, without either of those booked, you can place a request on your reservation through DCL reservations or your TA, but won't know if they've been granted until you board. Well after you can now make ressies on-line with DCL. If you really don't want to miss any of the rotational restaurants, I believe on a 4 night you'd have to book the last night in Palo.

We just got back from the 5/15 Wonder and had the rotation PTAA and did Palo's the last night. The only thing we missed is the show at Animator's Palate. I thought they might do it the third night but because that was Pirate night they didn't. I'm absolutely THRILLED with how it went and have to tell you.......don't miss eating at Palo!! It is awesome!

It doesn't matter which rotation we have. That I don't mind. I just don't want to book Palo, then miss one night at one place, and have two nights at another. All I'm interested in is how they rotate us.

If you booked through a TA can you still contact DCL direct to request a rotation, server etc?

You usually have to make those requests through your TA. Since your TA basicaly "owns" the reservation all changes/requests have to be made through them. Some people have reported getting DCL to note these requests for them, even though they booked through a TA. This is more the exception than the norm, and is against DCL policy.

As three previous posters have mentioned, if you're on the 4 night cruise and don't want to miss anything you should book Palo's for the final night as this will be a repeat restaurant (regardless of rotation). The one fly in the ointment is Pirate Night. This is on the 3rd night of your cruise and regardless which restaurant you're in, the menu will be exactly the same. If you wanted to experience the food offerings at each restaurant, then the 3rd night might be a better option for you. The 3rd night restaurant and the 4th night restaurant will be the same, just different menu's. Hope that helps and doesn't add to the confusion.

Tami, thank you very much. If previous posters said that, I sure didn't understand what they meant, and certainly thought you could be booked any 2 of the nights for the same restaurant, not just the last two. Thanks for your help. Pirate night we could probably take or leave, so that gives me 2 nights to pick from. Thanks for clarifying this.

Glad to help. It does get very confusing. The last night of the cruise is a very popular option for the 4 night, which makes Palo's very crowded. If you don't mind missing the Pirates Night, I would book dinner for the 3rd night and do the Palo's brunch on the following morning. We had the pleasure of eating here all 4 nights of our January "parents only" cruise and everything was incredible.

Enjoy,
Tammi
