Does anyone know if I can arrange for Mickey to call my son on his birthday while we are staying at the Grand California? I already have a birthday basket coming but thought a morning call would be great. If anyone has any info on this that they can share that would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Ask hotel reservations about this. Also just a tip, if it's a wake up call, get a regular wake up call two minutes before so DS is up and ready to hear what is going on.

Even better you can arrange for Mickey to actually come to the room and spend some private time with your family! :thumbsup2

Last Dec my 3 yr old GD and I stayed at PPH.

The first morning I just handed her the phone when the "wake up " call came and she was not happy and got scared. It was a greeting from the Haunted Mansion. It was the "Ghost Host" calling and Haunted Mansion music in the background.

She refused to listen to any more "wake up calls" after that.

Everytime after that if the phone rang she was afraid it was the "ghost".

I just assumed it would be Mickey calling. No more "wake up calls" for us that trip.

I don't really want a wake up call I was thinking a happy birthday call does that even exist?

I'm not sure if they do a Birthday message. You can schedule character calls for when ever you would like, at home or at the resort.

One time when I was in line at City Hall someone came in saying they were there for a special call. Not sure how they got that but it sounded neat. Another person picked up a special autograph from a character.

Last time we were there we called a head and they noted on our reservation that my friend was celebrating a birthday and they asked her favorite character. When we got to the room they had balloons, the birthday button with her name on it and cake made out of washcloths and the signed picture of Ariel. It was really nice and didn't cost anything.

If you are just wanting a birthday call, not a wake up call, then you can either call the hotel and see if they offer this (many only offer wake up calls). Or you can go to disney.com and if you look (I can't remember exactly where it is) then you will find an "enchanted call" option. They mainly advertise it for the princess calls, but when you go to the order page to set it up, then you can choose from any number of characters and occasions. (i.e. first day of school, birthday). I believe it is around 4 dollars, but you can choose the time and the phone number they call! :) Hope this helped!

If you are willing to pay enough money, you can get anything you want at Disneyland. This one wouldn't come cheap, but I am 100% positive that there would be an option to get this.

To the best of my knowledge, if you have a regular hotel room this won't work. Character's aren't allowed to walk down the hall, knock on your door and go in. A private character event is certainly do-able, but it would need to be in a function room of some sort. Last I knew it was about $800 per character.
